Great sounds, but is there more??

So after listening to the clips of the slip-ons, I have a couple questions. Do any of these require any tuning or jet kits? I am only looking at deepening the exhaust note, not any other issues. Also, I'm looking for deeper sound not really alot louder tho, so I would say the Leovince and the micron are what I'm looking at. Do either one require additional work?

Not really, thou adding a PC3 does have her run better, but not 100% necessary just depends on what you're looking for.

PS: look at a Staintune too.

Too bad you don't have a VTEC. Those stock cans with a bafflectomy have the best deep bass sound of any VFR pipe I've heard. In my experience, you need can volume for bass so avoid short or small diameter pipes.

The large 2bros oval designs might be a good choice. Carbon fiber also reduces the "tinny" sound of metal cans.

I know it's probably too late in the year for you but VFR group rides are a great resource for comparing pipes.

You've got a cat in your naughty so probably either should be ok on a FI bike. My " race only " Carbon fibre ARROW didn't require anything and runs beautifully low and mid range. Staintunes list no tuning change required so would be the safe option.

The LV's don't need a PCIII. they will change the tone of the exhaust and be less restrictive. Carbon fiber isn't as tinny. The PCIII was to smooth out the VTEC transition and to optimize the power gain from adding a less restrictive and Lighter exhaust. never heard the staintunes in person so I cant say much about them but they are as heavy as the stock cans I would imagine. My 2 cents
PS you can touch the Carbon fiber Cans and they won't burn the crap out of you. It's frickin amazing

I cant imagine any aftermarket cans as heavy as stock, staintunes are much lighter but still heavier than carbon fiber, with spuds out they dont get hot enough to burn as well (more restiction more heat). staintunes are a little more but worth it, sound awsome and a high quality can, should outlast a carbon fiber too

Thanks for the input...my next question is does the high mount conversion allow for hard bags to be mounted that dont have the exhaust cut out on that side?

tell me more about the bafflectomy on the VTEC. I have an '03VFR, what is the downside to it?

Though I shouldnt even be posting on this thread...because I own a 3rd Gen VFR 750.

I am contemplating a dual exhaust conversion over the winter months.
So I have heard them all, and trying to sift through the muck to make a decision.

The LEO's state right on they're website that they are "designed to run stock"
NO re-jetting, no mapping of any short. They should be a "plug and play" application.
Though if you get the EVOII pipes I would recomend to remove the baffles!
sound like the stock pipes until you do this.

I'd recomend the LEO's in CF or if you can get a "TRUE" dual application from
2 Bro's ...they sound great as well.

Then again... if I can fab up the stock 6th gen den gutual pipes and then GUTT them, that might be the cheapest way to go.

To answer a previous question....
I have a 1993 vfr 750 and I chopped the stock pipe down to a 9" shorty
I will say after gutting the pipe b affles and all, I found it necessary to get a stage 1 jet kit because it ran a little lean for my standards.

I installed the leo vince evo 2's on my bike and here's my thoughts. With the baffles in the exhaust really doesn't sound much louder than stock but you will get a slightly deeper rumble. I removed the baffles as I wanted loud exhaust and it sounds awesome now. Now I haven't heard any other exhaust on a VFR in real life, only the sound clips online and on utube. I will tell you this though, the baffles are an absolute pain in the ass to get out. They are pressed in and took me several attempts and damn near hernia to get them out. For this reason alone I would not recommend getting them, unless you want exhaust that is not much louder than stock.

I too removed the baffles from my LV's and all I did was take the screw out with a pair of vice grips and pulled the baffles out with a pair of pliers took all of 3 minutes. It was easy and they do sound awesome. I recommend them highly, mine are carbon fiber.

Deepest I've heard are the Two brothers C5 Titanium on a '99. Had a C4 on mine when I bought it but it didn't have the same deep grunt that the C5 had, although the C5 could have been worn out a lot more. The C4 did sound good though, sort of a deep tone and somewhat quiet. So anyway, I went ahead and bought a Staintune because the clip that is floating around sounded so awesome. But when I got her on, it didn't really sound the same. I really liked the C5 better than my Staintune (which was stolen several weeks ago!). That was sort of a disappointment to me for spending $450. People rave about the LV's and Microns too though. I would definitely try to listen to them in person instead of judging them from a video or sound clip. Everyone's camera's will record sound a little differently than others and most don't pick up the bass that these exhausts make (which is unfortunate).

As far as the high mount/hard bad question, I believe that people have done it with the high mount, but I don't recall how. Maybe search the site on that to come up with some answers or maybe someone has a link?

I believe it was '98 so he has fuel injection on his bike.

I installed the high mount Micron, and managed to fit the Givi top and side rack system on my bike. I had to add some spacers on the right side of the bike to give myself a little more clearance, but I've had no other problems. I couldn't get the wingrack to fit with my Micron, but I understand you can make it fit with Two Bros.

That's true. It did sound better after about 2500 miles. I just had it starting to sound good and then BAM! in one night it's taken out of my garage a week before a big trip. I have since learned to double check the garage door every night . I had no money for a new one so I made one up. Hardbags wouldn't be prob with this pipe .

MotoGP style is all the rage, so that seems to look almost standard for todays look. Tire to pipe static clearance looks like it might be a little gnarly though.....
