Lower driver pegs?

Is there any way to lower the drivers pegs? I dont want to lower the shifter... just want to make more room for my feet under the pegs. I just sold my VXT for the VFR so maybe I am spoiled from the cruiser. I wear a size 13 shoe. Shoes are fine, but with winter coming I need to be able to get a boot under there... Thanks.

lower pegs

there's a company that makes a fully adjustable footpeg kit that allows you to move them 1" up, down, back, forward or anywhere in a 1" circle. I'll try to find the name of the company. I think its in Germany. Not cheap.

I think you'll find by lowering the pegs the shifter will feel too high. Do a search on "buell pegs" and "lowering blocks". If you just want a half inch lower, move the peg down so it splits the lower mounting point and get a longer pin.

Lowering your pegs will limit your cornering clearence. You can try getting a custom saddle if you are looking for more ride height and better leg position.

Not if you lower them less than or equal to the level of the stock peg feelers. That's what I did with the buell pegs; no issues.

Most rearsets are purchase for more cornering clearence. If you are not a agressive rider, I guess you can get away by lowering it a 1/2 inch. For some like me, cornering clearence has always been an issue. I had to increase my ride height and remove the peg feelers to avoid the constant peg grinding. Even my exhaust was more susceptible to grinding on the road surface until I increased my ride height by 1 inch.

Yes, I do have a hard time reaching the road with both feet while I am stopped since I am only 5'7" 145 lbs.

How about a different pair of boots?

If you wear Timberlands or some big ol steel toe boot, that's the issue. Check out some Motorcycle specific boots like Sidi's.

Could be much cheaper than rearsets.

Just in case others are following this thread, here's a very nice street boot at a great price. Extremely comfortable right out of the box, thumbs up:
