94 VFR mirror upgrade?

I'm looking to upgrade my factory mirrors on my 94vfr to a more modern look. I came upon this picture of one of our members bikes with nice looking mirrors but I'm not sure of the brand. Any ideas for my upgrade would be great.

Those mirrors are off an 2000-01. Mine I find out are off an 04 6th gen OMG my bike is contaminated. Here all this time I thought they where off a 2000 5th gen LOL notice the stocks are smaller and also round.

Take a look at them. They may be something you would be interested in, I just ordered a pair of the integrated mirrors in the second link for mine. Something a little more modern for the old girl.

cheers

I don't believe that to be the case - the mounting holes are a different pitch on the 6th Gen from those before...unless yours have been modified to fit..

Thats a what I thought too. but when I pulled up to a 2000 model I see his mirror stocks are oval and thicker, then saw a 6th gen and wa la they look the same. I'm thinking that the base is the 5th and stocks are a 6th? what ever it is they work and look just fine

Thanks. My 90 came to me with the 2000-01 mirrors, and I broke one. I have seen a few 6th gen bikes, and it looks like the 98-99 have the same rubber covered mirrors that we do. Now I know what to look for.

I believe the above part number 96600-060-1607 is incorrect. It should read:96600-06016-07. Same # just hyphen is incorrect according to Honda part # book.

NO THEY DO NOT!

The "Y2K" mirrors, i.e those fitted to the 2000 model year 800 (pre-vtecs) bolt right on but may need slightly longer bolts.

The VTEC mirrors (ALL YEARS) DO NOT AS THE MOUNTING HOLES ARE SPACED AT 40MM PITCH, NOT 50MM AS ON THE PREVIOUS ONES.

You could of course make composite mirrors with the y2k bases and stems/mirrors from later ones .

Or you could modify others to fit - I for example have GSXR K2 mirrors fitted to my 750, but I have modified the holes and the mounting bases to make them fit.

VTEC mirrors are NOT a bolt on upgrade.....

I will add this, My mirrors, all though they came on the bike when I bought it. liked them right off the bat, always though they were 5th gen mirrors off a 2000-01, but didn't know till of late that I have 6th gen stocks, so the question is, do I have 5th gen bases? as they fit, looks great!

Look, the definitive answer is there already.

Alternatively, buy a set of Y2K 5th gen mirrors.

Buy a set of 6th gen mirrors.

swap the stems and mirrors over.

fit to bike.

take excess money and sense, add remaining mirrors and throw off a large cliff somewhere.

One member has a set of what (may be) hybrid mirrors. If the bases fit, then they MUST be 5th gen bases, since the 6th GEN DON'T FIT

The original question has been answered.
