HID: Lo & Hi or just Lo

First. Dont worry about my other post I figured out the wiring. The kit I bought has just one setting so I have it wired in my Lo beams.

I'll take her for a ride late tonight and see how the HID's are. They have reflector plates at the bottom so when looking at the headlights, just the top half are light. LOL Might take the reflector plates off but here's the question.

If I dont like how the light output is, should I take it back and find a Hi/Lo kit. I know my Lo lights will brighter and I know you dont use Hi's often, but I do use them. I dont want to remove the plates cuase I'm sure I wont be able to take them back then. LOL

Please list (w/ link) where you bought yours and if its a Hi/Lo kit.

The focal length and shape of the reflector is critical for correct light pattern. The filiment on a standard lamp is oriented 90 deg to the element on an HID capsule. It is not possible to correctly orient the capsule for proper focus. You can come up with a usable pattern by moving the capsule in or out (.010" at a time) or, you can use reflectors that are designed for HID capsules. There is a reason NONE of these kits are DOT or legal. (look at the fine print)
If you remove the shutter, you will only blind oncoming drivers.

I'm guessing you're not on a 6th gen.

I've got the HI/LO H4 kit on my 5th gen and I love it. I pretty much don't like to drive at night without HID's now.

These are the systems I use and have installed on 4 different bikes and a car.
I was a little nervous with the HI/LO kit at first. Very simple, electro magnet just slides the sleeve on the bulb to change the focus. Pretty much mimics the H4 bulb perfectly.

If you're interested in buying from the guy, he's very reputable. Have bought a half dozen systems from him already.

I'll keep these Lo's in till the Harbor Freight store gets the Hi/Lo kit in. I called today and they didnt have them in their computer yet.

You'll find the high beam setting is WAY more visible then the lo during the daytime.

Went for a test ride in the shity. No one flashed me. When I was behind people I could tell my lights weren't directly going into the cabin area. So I didnt see the back of the seats or their heads light up.

So I think I'm good on not having to adjust them.
