Evaporate cannister removal
In the midst of some winter upgrades to my '02 VFR.
The paint has worn off my evaporative cannister on the front of the bike and the words "Del Monte" and "Pineapple" are beginning to show through. I figured instead of putting a new coat of paint on the evap cannister, I would just toss it all together. A few questions: 1. Why does the fuel tank have two vent lines? One runs directly to the evaporative cannister, the other in/out of a solenoid before going to the evap cannister. Is it safe to remove the solenoid also or will I get an "FI" warning on the dash? 2. Could I not just plug one of the vent lines at the tank and the bike function fine with just one vent line? Any and all input/help would be appreciated. RDR |

So no one has done this? I was looking at mounting the MCcruise cruise control unit, and that requires removing this canister. The cruise directions say to remove it, if you have it, but have no instructions for removing it.
