Ya know it's, just well Hell one of those things that just bug me. that and be cool. and that idle hands are not happy and that since a NEW V5 viffer ain't any where to be found, figure why not ;)

Cad; don'ts ya gota love a project. nice bike there. Thanks for the info. I'm leaning now to just go ahead and get the Carrozzeira package only if they back it up with it being returnable if they don't fit, as they are actually made for the 5-6th gens then maybe I'll also see just what it is they do to make this happen. Safe-t you're right $2600 isn't really all that bad if it's a plug and play.

I hear ya on NOT gtting the new VFR. But I am just too practical to drop the cash-ola for something like this.

I enjoy watching others do it since I don't have the talent. But if I had 2600 to burn. A SV650 track bike would be sitting in my garage. God willing, it will be in the next few years

I think theres a VFRD guy thats a quasi dealer for those and can get it for around $2200.
Also I think you can get rear only too. I think you could find him if you do a search. Safe T might know too.

OK - what is the wheel from?

That's an RVF wheel.

I can't E-bay from the office, or I'd look if that's where it's listed.

I'm with Bubba on this one. I'd never pony up the time or money to do this, but would love to see it done.

Not on Ebay, actually I tripped over this gem on a race shop site that tricks out NT650s. Was doing some research and I'm finding the the NT looks to be using or maybe uses the same hub except that wheel is installed with a single nut. Go figure.
I Know what you mean about spending the $$$. I on the norm don't go to far with adaption, but this time around I'm thinking Hmm as one no one makes a bike like ours and it needs very little to bring it up to date. Add in I'd spend way more on a new machine and get probably get no more fun than what I'm all ready experiencing. I mean it really is hard to be any better than this. less brakes and looks. I could just park the Viffer and go get a 1098 Mmm whats that $20K or if i was lazy go get a 091000RR for what $13K, so figure a little spent here wouldn't hurt a thing, plus I'd have a one of a kind to boot. It's still all on paper, I'm not going to mess with mine till I have everything in order and know it'll work, last thing I want is a winter project that takes 2+ years.

I hear you about the performance gains in having something new. My bike is still more bike than I need from a performance on the street standpoint. The "new" would wear off fast after dropping $10K - $12K on a fresh model. I'll add suspension to your list. While FI is nice, especially for tuning, I don't mind pulling that thing called a choke back on a cool morning.
All that said.... If you do your homework and decide to pull the trigger on this project, you will have my undivided attention for a few minutes each evening. Please document as it happens if you go for it!

What do you know about the weight of that wheel? I'd bet it doesn't do better than your stocker, although it looks the biz.

Hmmmmm.
That kind of money could put another gen 4 in the stable.
This point in my life a Roth IRA is the better bet with that kind of coin.
I know.... yawn.... how boring.

Delkevic - Products - Wheels

Betcha wouldn't even hafta shave the rear caliper on your 4th gen.

I came within a whisker of owning an RC45 rear wheel from Ben Bostrom's AMA Superbike...

Have you spent any bucks on the suspension on your ride? That would be the first place to dump some $ into before you go bling. Its pogo stick just like the stock 5th boingers.
