Down Grade 4 Gen to 3 Gen Rear Lights
I have always wanted to have the red lens across my rear like the 3rd Gens. So I got a set off ebay that were pretty faded and fugly. I took some steel wool then some buffing compound and my drill to them. They are better but not perfect. I read somewhere that someone made there turn signals work as running lights too by using front turn signal sockets. So I could only find one front socket and was going to order another. Then I searched one more time and found a tail light harness. Perfect! It has both the sockets in the one harness and they fit right into the turn signals. It was straight forward from there, orange to green with stripe, blue to green with stripe, browns for tail lights tapped into tail light and use the existing grounds. I like the looks 100% better over stock. I just finished tonight so sorry for the indoor pics. I have not looked if its cheaper to order the one tail light harness or 2 front sockets from Honda if you want to do this to your yellow ones or step it up and change to Red.
So now just incase I have you confused. I now have running lights across all the lens and then the turn signals will still flash on the ends because they now have dual filament bulbs 1157. Brian ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yep, that's how i have mine, except for the red turn signal lenses. I bought another tail light harness for the sockets and wired them in; looks great.

Alot of the cars were built with red turn signals in the early days. I dont think it will be an issue here.
