Mounting License Plate

I have a sixth gen vfr and I think the profile would look clean if the plastic license mount was removed. How are people removing it and where are they mounting their license plate once removed

Take a look at this pic and you will see what I've done. I am going to try and spread the cans out a little bit so I can turn the plate back the way it should go since I put on the carbon fiber rear hugger. I used the stock metal part of the original plate holder to mount it and just took off the plastic portion. Who needs one of those fender eliminator kits, thats just a waste of money.

Nice Job on the mount.
CW fender eliminator was only $49.00.
3 tanks of gas at today's prices.
I didn't think it was a waste. I like mine.
Nice Chicken Strips, too LOL

I just finished putting on a cw fender eliminator and it couldn't be easier. check out two bros racing website and click the eliminator icon, that is the cw. That way you can see it with out a plate already on.

I should take a picture but what I did was totally remove the entire plastic mud/spash guard... I then removed the metal braket that is inside the mud/splash guard , painted it black as it was some ugly army green color, and remounted plate-lite and plate on it... looks nice and clean...

EDIT:

I went outside with company camera took a picture:

I can't seem to get the plastic loose. I removed 4 bolts under the seat, 2 under the fender, and the light. Doesn't want to let loose. Since I just bought it 2 days ago, I really don't want to break anything...Any suggestions/directions???

Thanks,

You have to just about remove the rear faring to get at all the bolts holding the rear fender on.

My second go at it was like clockwork. It almost came off by itself. Not sure what the deal was the first time... anyway definitley looks better. Front reflectors off as well...

Thanks,

I just saw an old thread of mine come up and realized I didn't follow up with an update. I just coughed up the $40.00 for a license eliminator kit. Very easy came with directions and all. 15 minutes late the profile of my bike was that much sexier.
