Motad Headers, I'm stuck.

Ok I'm in the process of taking the stock headers off. Limited amount of tools and I have all the body pieces off. most of the stock header unbolted. My problem right now is I don't have the right size tool to take off the O2 sensors. Is there any special tool I need, or just the right size wrench?

Use a 22mm open end wrench or "crows foot" socket. If you happen to have a 7/8" it might work because that's just a tiny bit larger than 22mm.

EDIT: I've never removed the O2 sensors on the VFR, but every imported vehicle I've ever worked on has required a 22mm tool to remove/install O2 sensors--whether it's Bosch, Denso, etc.

If you are putting on Motad catless headers, why remove the O2 sensors from your stock exhaust. Just unplug the sensors from the wire harness and leave the plugs in the old headers.

There should be a write-up either here or on VFRD of how to use 330 ohm resistors to replace them in wire harness. Easy and cheap.

I have read that you get better mpg w/ them in. That is from someone who actually installed them. Personally, I will probably 86 them as well but that is after I see what it is like w/ them in. I also believe that the v tech utilizes the sensors for it's optimum operation functionality.

I put them in, a cresent wrench did the trick once I bought one big enough.
