VFR red is no moar

After my recent lowside I was just dying to get this bike touched up and pretty again. Too many red VFR's out there for my taste, so the stock color was out. Also, spent all my extra money on an upcoming "24 Hours of Lemons" event. The solution? Elbow grease and a lot of spray cans!

Wanted to look original, also have a tinted windscreen on the way. I'm off to NC this Wednesday.

Tell me what ya think!

You could stencil in some aircraft markings in black to give it a stealth fighter look. How much clearance is there between the exhaust and the rear wheel?

I was thinking of putting a p40 shark mouth low on the fairing

The exhaust is near a 1/4" from the rear tire. I had to get a little creative with that rear right footpeg, just ended up stacking some washers in there and it squeezed in perfect. That exhaust does not wiggle AT ALL. Pretty impressed it worked out since I bought it on closeout for a 954.

There is a CBR running around town painted like that and also has the classic "spitfire"
P-38? mouth/teeth painted on it. Kinda cool.

How to:
1.get tools, eyeball it while you drink some beer,
2.start disassembly,
4.curse honda for making everything hard to reach,
5.drink more beer,
6.sand,
7.paint,
8.realize you need to get better at painting,
9.sand,
10.paint again,
11.drink beer while it dries,
12.start putting back together,
13.curse honda some more,
14.realize you didn't screw the temp sensor in,
15.take front fairing back apart,
16.wonder where that extra screw came from,
17.finally master the tiny plastic push clips,
18.step back and admire.

BTW a naked VFR is a weird looking thing, helps you realize why it's heavy
