My first mod!

Well I've had the beautiful machine for close to a week now.

The VFR is no different than most bikes, when it comes to the tail section!

There always big and goofy. I did the little cut job on my last bike as well.

Takes about 90 minutes. It's also one less light to power! I trimmed the fender and cut out the bottom of the tail light. Covered the hole with a clear weld hood screen.

I like it! I did something very similar to my old bike (GSXR). I also have a 5th gen and have been trying to decide if I want to eliminate the fender with a kit or just cut it. I think your choice is better!

That really looks good! I'd liked to do the same, but my Beetle Bags mounting bracket uses the fender as a mounting point. Oh, well.

Nice job, good lines on the fender cut. I went a lot further with my cut and riding through any sort of rain throws spray up on the back of the bike. I may find a stock underseat tray and recut it similar to yours.

Givi trunk or sidebag rack I'd suspect. I have a similar setup.

Yep! the PO thought he did a slick job. I wanted to say measure twice cut once, but we were still talking price, So I played the nice guy.

I just installed the powerbronze undertail (from ebay) for my 2001 VFR, nice but does not come pre drilled and only very generic/useless directions. Also you have to modify it by cutting up the stock tail to keep the battery holder area. You have to rig it to fit and I was not happy with my final fit, it does not bolt up like I thought it would. It took me over 4 hours to take apart and put back together. I did have to cut a notch for my high mount exhaust and I took out the stock light and used the LED bolt lights that shine on the plate, that is cool.

If I had to do it all over again, I would not. I would cut my stock fender just like this one. Save the 80.00 and a few hours and a headache and just modify the stock fender.

I like the way the Fenderless bikes look.

I dont mind a fender, but the long dum looking plate holder always bugs me.
I understand why they do it, But in the USA, we have tinny plates and dont need all that space.
