Reading this thread makes me wonder how come Yoshi doesn't make the Tri oval pipe for the 6th generation VFR. It would fit. And why doesn't Laser offer the Hotcam pipe for it either. Both pipes have a tear drop or triangular shape to them.
Maybe I'm just thinking about this exhaust thing to much. Better sleep on it. |

I found it! I saved it to my favorites. See what a good night of sleep can do. I e-mailed the owner, Rob Poitras, and hope to hear back from him. |

06 vfr exhaust
i just listened to all the sounds posted on this site. the Staintune and the D&D in my opinion sounded the best. i just picked up my 06 vfr and the stock exhaust is relly weak sounding. i had a GSXR600 befor with a D&D on it and it sounded awesome. Does anyone know if the Staintune comes in Carbon Fiber for the 06?

I think some smartass already answered that question on this site.
If they made them from Carbon Fiber they would have to change their name. |

TBR full C2 header system on '92 Veefer
Put a full 2Bros C2 stainless header system on my '92 back about 10 years ago - when they still made full systems for the old gen models.
They also made stage II kits that you could get directly from TBR which was nice. http://home.comcast.net/~safosters/9...r_vidclip1.wmv ![]() |

I just installed my Staintune high mount changed from a TB Carbon. I honestly am a little disappointed with the sound because it doesn't really sound like the one from the clip. It doesn't have that V8 type sound that I thought it would. It is a whole lot louder though than the TB. But the TB had a nice deeper tone to it. I have heard a TB C5 titanium high mount that sounded even better than the TB I have. I'm not so sure that I would pick the staintune over the TB C5 Titanium if I had the choice again. IMHO I don't think that those sound clips sound anything like what those pipes really sound like. I have a '98. Does anyone else feel like that Staintune sound clip doesn't really sound the way it really sounds? I'm not trying to say that it's a bad exhaust or anything but mine doesn't sound like that very much.

I removed the baffle and it's friggin loud, but not smooth sounding like the clip and not the same tone. It sounds more like the D&D clip to me. It sounds good though. I guess just different than what I expected. Maybe it's just my bike. Does the year have anything to do with it? The newer 5th gen models have the catalytic converter which could attribute to a different tone. I'm not sure.

Any Exhaust will cure in as you use it.. It might sound like crap now but in 500-2000 miles it might cure in and be just what you wanted.. The packing (if any) and material need to be broke in just like a new bike. The longer you ride it the better it gets..

Yeah it's sounding better already. Yippeeee!!! I have a video of it but I don't know how to link it and I seem to have a hard time getting my videos to work from this site. I think that it doesn't like the size or format or something. I'd like to post it though...

An alternative to here would be to put it on photbucket or putfile or someplace like that and post the link. But it should accept the following video file types:
mpeg,mpg,avi,asf,wmv,mov,wav |

I'm working on getting some acceptable clips of my Remus system on my 06. So far, I get a ton of wind noise, so I'm looking for good places to mount my lil camera (with sound capture.) Rest assured, I'll make sure to get a few good clips recorded, because this thing sounds just plain evil.
Edited to add - I made a video clip of the exhaust at idle/warmup and short revs. HERE
