That's actually not bad, I like that minimalistic style. How did you go about turning the gutted cat into a muffler?

Toxic Shock on these forums owns a welding/fabrication shop in my area. He took them, cut the cat on the upstream side of the can, made a new can, but replaced the cap (with the outlet pipe). Inside, he took a piece of sheet metal and punched small holes in it to create back pressure. He also welded some metal screen in there, both up and downstream to hold in some moose competition muffler packing. To finish it off, i put an $8 autozone exhaust tip on it.

Same thing I attempted to do myself, but lack the welding/fabricating skills of toxic. I'll try to get the pics he took of the whole ordeal.

Nice reminds me why the VFRs V4 is such a good thing, was it a Digital camera strapped to the rear fender under the light or a cam corder ?

The hot exhaust is blasting right on the rear tire enough that it was spinning....
To me that's not safe at all!!! on lean angle hot tire getting hotter by the exhaust fumes will jeopardize your life!!!
please put attachments so it blast totally sideways like Buells.

The wheel isn't spinning because of the exhaust gas, i believe its a function of the wet clutch.

I don't know what gen bike you have, but put it on the centerstand, throw it in neutral, and rev it. I guarantee that your wheel spins too. Also, get on youtube and look up custom VFR exhausts, their wheels spin too, sometimes even more.

Is the exhaust blasting directly on the rear tire YES or NO? Looks on the Vid it does! Well hot fumes blasting on tire which is keeping you upright is unsettling to say the least.
Some things must be logical and being "cool" for the sake of it does not cut it.

I got a Vance & Hines Stainless steel exhaust and recorded my bike at idling & revving:

Note: this is after a recent valve adjustment so it sounds "just right".

greetings fellow vfrs!
I have a 2005 and am wondering 2 things-1, where can I find a RED windscreen?
and 2--someone had posted an interesting way to modify and remove the pipe baffles for a cooler sound without spending too much and without having to get too involved including not having to weld anything...--anyone have any suggestions or know this info?
thanks!

Here's one of my Delkevic 450mm muffler with Cat. Short but sweet. Kinda sounds like a v8 pushing 8,000 rpm!
