WOW! AMAZING WORK and attention to detail. I love to see someone fully explore their passion and be truly unique. Naturally, it will not be everyone's idea of perfect but it is YOUR idea of perfect. Hats off to you for making your bike be what you want. Thanks for the pics (who cares if they are so big) and the full replies. It took some time to respond to each person with all that detail. Pretty darn cool! The very idea of the Joker is over-the-top so it is perfect that your bike is the same. And how cool it is that you generate such good will and take the time to talk to the kids and the public at large. No need to apologize about anything...GOOD KARMA!
Keep it up and stay safe!

The license plate says it all!!!!!!! Weird but cool, very creative......you definitely do not have to worry about not being able to find your bike in a pack. Nice mech mods too!

Great work on a very unique machine. I think it's very cool you made the time and investment into a vfr.

I am just sitting outside in my yard and scroll leisurely through VFR world to get some inspiration on color schemes. And bang I come across your thread. You created a piece of modern art - congratulation! Axel

Dang! And I thought that just painting my bike a non-stock color was over the top. Great work. If I may critique a bit, I'd say that your fairing, tail piece and front fender need a bit of attention. The bike looks a bit unbalanced and unfinished with the fairing in the stock color as if you bought a replacement plastic set in factory colors. Take it a little further and cover all of the stock paint with a design and I think you will have done it. Cover for the 2010 calendar? You have my vote. I am in to old Honda CBs and there are plenty of custom designed versions of those. I was just thinking the other day what I could do to make my VF a bit more custom than flat black. Ammo can side bags? Hmmm.

It's been awhile since I've replied, been busy on the website. Thank you for your continued interest in my bike gentlemen. Thanks Gears,I haven't used all the colors in the crayon box yet,but I'm getting there. Jesus Randy!!!
You haven't been taking ALL your meds again lately have you? LOL! Seriously though,I always look forward to reading your posts, you are without a doubt the funniest guy on the whole website. Thanks for posting here my friend,I'm honored. I'd like to say thanks to Reg71,CebuVFR,and Onesided as well. You're right guys it is exceedingly easy to spot my bike in a crowded parking lot,it's usually the most colorful thing parked out there. Trust me,after a long day of riding,I like easy. "Holy Farkles",Thanks 300Shooter. To be honest though, half the credit has to go to my buddy Pez,without his help I wouldn't have gotten this far. My running joke with him is, "How come everytime you get a good idea it costs me money?" I've come to find that one of the coolest things about my bike is that other people will look at it and come up with totally funny ideas that I would never have thought of,not in a million years. Leftcoast, you are absolutely right,(how did I not see that?)THAT WOULD be a funny picture, and a cool idea for a VFR World contest. My caption entry would probably be, "It figures, there's ALWAYS gotta be one in every crowd" Ironically,it was seeing my bike parked next to two other red 6th gens. that made me want to push the paintwork over the top. Thanks Nungboy, your replies always come from the heart,it shines through in your posts. You're right,I like spreading the love when it comes to motorcycling,it's a lifelong passion of mine not simply just a hobby. I sent along a couple of pics for you, here's the story behind them. My buddies and I were at Road America in Elkhart Lake three years ago to watch the AMA races. (in fact another panel member Phil Ceptor tells me he saw my bike there) We were by the Ducati pits when a guy and his sons approached me and told me that they'd seen my bike parked at the bottom of the hill. His youngest son Jack was pretty excited to meet me and asked if he could wear my helmet. It's a good thing that I was standing behind him when he flipped it on his head, because he nearly fell over backwards. The visor was up and he reached up and slapped it down with authority,it was hilarious. I asked him to give the thumbs up for the picture. I call this picture "Jack in a hat",it hangs on the basement wall in my gym. Now talk about Good Karma,as I was having my picture taken with my little buddy Jack, the Ducati umbrella girls happened to be walking by. They thought it was sweet that I would take the time to do that,so I asked if I could get my picture taken with them. But you know Nungboy the funny thing is,I can look at that pic of Jack and describe for you every detail about it,and yet when I look at the pic of the Ducati girls all I can tell you is that my knees were shaky and MMmmm.....those girls smelled good! Go figure? Thanks DCompson,as much as I revere my VFR it's not sacred. And since noone ever told me that I couldn't do this to my VFR I thought well why the hell not! I like this 6th gen. VFR,and I plan on keeping it for a long time. Dalexander,I'm hoping that listing of Bangkok Thailand under your name is for real, because after I read your post and saw it I was standing Ten Feet Tall. When I was doing this work to my bike,it never occurred to me that another VFR enthusiast on the other side of the planet would see it someday and give me the thumbs up. Big Thanks Axel, your input is much appreciated. I don't suggest you use this color scheme though, trust me this thing is one giant dirt magnet. It has always been my idea, right from the start,to get rid of all those "acres of red paint" on the fairing panels Seidts. The bike is a work in progress,I haven't gotten that far yet. What you're seeing now is simply THIS iteration of the bike. We're going to paint the fairing panels with sparkle paint, each piece a different color. No artwork of any kind on the fairing panels,in fact my painter Shawn was begging me to let him paint them. Remember this bike is a rider not a show bike. We want to do something that's simple and easily repairable incase the bike gets dropped, and the panels get damaged. As you know Seidts, the chin section really takes a beating from the road debris thrown up by the front tire. Those lower fairing panels will have to be painted periodically to keep them looking good. With the economy the way it is though, probably no work will be done on the bike this year. It would be nice to make the 2010 calender, but my vote would go to Fearisgood and his "Spraycan Special". If he pulls off that P40 Fighter Plane sharks nose artwork on his front fairings,he oughta be a shoe-in. As far as paint schemes go for your VF,they're just like my VFR,the sky's the limit. Have at her man! Thanks again for your input and support gentleman. ![]()

Hey StoshMonster! Thanks for checking in. That is so nice that you take the time to respond to everyone's comments. And that is funny that you chose to mention the story of the kid, the helmet and the pictures. I follow my (late) brother's habit of taking the time to speak to kids as real people and to find out what they are interested in. You clearly made his day. People are so often looking for Life's meaning...I think most of the meaning is just taking a few minutes to make a difference and put a smile on someone's face. It is so easy to do that. You seem to do that with your bike and your outgoing approach. The cool thing is that generally, if you follow your passion with a good attitude, you naturally and easily spread the fun and the smiles. It is no accident that the Joker has a smile on his face.
![]() P.S. I like the umbrella girls!

That looks crazy. It is a little over the top for me but the huge amount of work / detail that was put into it is just insane. Someone is truly gifted.

Awesome! Breath taking and.....you'll never loose that baby in a bike rally! I have the same exhaust system and noticed the plug for the " real " can. Perhaps the only downside I can see with this system is the fact that if left out in the rain the real can will take in the rain. I would love to get one of those plugs...where did you get that one?

Back again, thanks for your continued interest gentlemen. You're absolutely right Nungboy,it only takes a moment to make someone's day. It's neat,it's easy, and it's free. So why not put a smile on someone's face. Like I said in my first post, when I see people smiling it makes it all worth it to me. Glad you liked the pics. Fearisgood,I'm really liking your bike. As you can see from my bike I like to think outside the box,and I can appreciate it when I see someone else doing the same. Your "Spraycan Special" is a totally cool idea, and way outside the box for a VFR. And that my friend is precisely why I'm liking your bike. There's plenty of detail on your bike, and that P40 Fighter Plane artwork will be the icing on the cake. Pure eye-candy. I've got a feeling that once your bike is done the current screen saver on your computer won't be lasting too long,I'm betting you'll have a new favorite. You've definitely got my vote for the 2010 calender.
Thanks Tori,COOL avatar. Raspberries to the naysayers! Who says it ain't BIG FUN to drag knees on a VFR! Smooth and fast, yeah that's the ticket man! Keep the rubber side down. Thanks Midias, that's hilarious! I laughed my a$$ off when I read your post. You do know it's dangerous to give me ideas, now I've got to find a way to mount some bang-flag gun holsters on this thing! Thanks SLOVFR,I've been working with the paint program on my computer since my last post, and I've decided that my original idea to paint each panel a different color won't work. So I picked out a dark sparkle purple paint for the fairings. It integrates well with the purple shading in the checkered flags on the tank. I approached my buddy Pez with the idea and he's okay with it. We're thinking about having some decals made of the dice, poker chips, ribbons, playing cards, and dollar signs from the tank and putting them on the fairings. Like I explained to Seidts,we want the fairing design to be simple and easily repairable in case of damage. We'll also be repainting the front wheel in red,I liked the way it looked on the paint program. But as I stated previously SLOVFR,with the economy the way it is I don't think we'll be painting the fairings this year. Yep,you're right Webbfire It's kinda hard to lose this thing in a crowd. Do you like your Two Brothers "Stash" exhaust system? I personally like the droning exhaust sound it makes, and the extra storage space is very useful too. You know what I find really screwy is that the 6th gen VFR is a sport/tour bike, and yet there's only about enough storage space beneath the seat for a pack of cigarettes. By comparison, the underseat storage space on my RC51 is positively cavernous, and that's a hardcore sportbike. Go figure? Webbfire, that orange exhaust plug you see in the right exhaust pipe tip is made by Pro Grip. I sent along a pic for you. They make it in two sizes, this is the larger of the two. Part number PG 2560. It fits roughly 1 1/4 inch to 2 3/8 inch exhaust pipe tips. You can find them on Pro Grip's website in the motocross accessories section. I use them to cap the exhaust pipe tips on all my bikes during winter storage. Hope that helps you. Thanks once again for all your input and support gentlemen. ![]()

Unique
Thank you. I purchased one of the plugs on Ebay. With regards to the discussion on the appearance of your bike I say that one of the best qualities of the VFR is that it allows you to modify the bike to look and feel like a true sport bike while giving up none of the comforts offered by a " touring " bike. As much as they have tried no one else has duplicated that " range " offered by the VFR. I was out of Motorcycling for twenty years and always knew that if I ever got back into it....it would be on a VFR. I salute you on making your VFR unique and an expression of you!

Thanks Sneaky, the whole idea behind the bike was to do something crazy, zany, and unexpected. I'm glad you like it. I wanted to see if I could put a smile on some people's faces. It's kinda neat to see how riders and non-riders alike enjoy the bike. What's really funny is that because I removed all the decals, and all the paintwork that we've done, there are no easily visible manufacturers markings on the bike other than the word Honda cast into the clutch cover and the Honda wing logo on the top triple clamp. Several times now I've actually had other riders pull up along side me and ask "What kind of Ducati is that?"
Don't take my Jokermobile seriously though Sneaky,(because I can honestly tell you we don't! LOL ) my buddy Pez and I are just having a little bit of goofy fun with it. I caught up with your first impressions post, glad to hear that lowering link is going to work out for you. If you liked the look and feel of your new bike on the showroom floor, wait till you get a few thousand road miles under your belt. It's then that you'll understand why longtime diehard VFR owners (like myself) absolutely love these things.

Honda VFR's are pretty machines, but they sure don't look like much with their fairings off. Though I'd post these pics up so you could see what's under the bodywork. I'm currently installing my CCFL Halo Angel Eyes in the headlights, red, green, blue, and purple. While I've got the bodywork off I'll be removing the tank, changing the spark plugs, finally getting around to installing the PAIR mod,and doing the valve adjustment with the HotCams Valve Shim kit I just picked up. I'll be getting the bodywork scuffed and ready for paint, but that may be awhile because my buddy Pez and I are currently working on our Ducati's. There's a show in mid July that we'd like to attend. So as of now it looks like my Jokermobile might be parked for the rest of the summer. I'm hoping not,we'll see.

Thank you for the pics....what exactly does installing the shim kit do for the bike's performance?

Thanks Nungboy. Gotcha!
LOL! I see you eventually noticed that my left radiator grille is Orange. You have to be very careful when you look at pics of my bike,we intentionally made each side of the bike slightly different than the other. There's more to see that way. As I explained to Mello Dude once,I like to sweat the details on my bikes.Webbfire, the HotCams Valve Shim kit is used for routine engine maintenance. I prefer to do all the work on my bikes myself. Honda suggests that every 16,000 miles (24,000 km) your valves should be checked, and adjusted if necessary. 6th gen. VFR's are equipped with the shim-under-bucket type valve adjusters. The shims in the kit are used to make the necessary valve clearance adjustments. I'll be pulling the valve covers to paint them, there's 17k miles on my bike,so as long as I'm in the neighborhood I might as well check/adjust the valve clearances. Thanks for the pic Skydog. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks Great White. I knew when I started work on this bike that it wouldn't be for everyone's tastes, but then what ever is. I'm with you, different strokes. The world would be a pretty dull place if everyone liked the same thing. To each his own.
You've got a good point that not everyone laughs along with me,and I agree with you. How can you NOT laugh at someone wearing a Joker helmet with an Orange mohawk on it? LOL! ![]() ![]() Thanks Snafu. The tank and seat cowl artwork was done by Shawn Hansen. He paints helmets and this was his first attempt at a gas tank and seat cowl. When I first discussed the design with him I told him that I wanted the artwork to be cartoony and colorful, but also loud, rude, and obnoxious. As you can see,he exceeded my design criteria. ![]()

Laughing with me, laughing AT me...
I have had it all in my life. My brother taught me that to conform for the sake of conformity was wrong. So, we would zig when others were zagging. That has made a lot of people laugh at me over the years but because I acted from the heart and to satisfy my own desires I have always felt secure and always had a blast at life... it is clear that StoshMonster is having a great time and is happy. If someone laughs at him I don't really think he cares. I say "right on, bro!" The marching morons of this conforming-society can laugh like hyenas...they always have and always will. Stosh has figured out the secret of happiness.
