Narcissim time: See the great Joey_Dude in action!

One weekend a member here, mtlovesst, hooked up his camcorder to his bike through a clever system of a PVC pipe and bungee cords. It actually worked pretty well with minimal vibrations. So he videotaped me riding through Route 348 up near Helen, GA.

Here's the video at youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMcDnPbu4n0

I thought for sure a high speed chase with Ponch and John was going to pop up.Oh well at least I get to watch all the bitching about being unsafe.

Nice! Me likey! But you should check your wiring. I think there's a short or loose brake light wire. Your brake light kept flashing erratically as you approached each curve. (J/K. Hee, hee, hee.)

What did that golf course think of you using their cart path to ride on?

LOL thanks for the comments, sorry no cop chase video, the camcorder shakes too much over 100 mph anyway. And no that's not a golf course, although during the winter that road gets so much gravel you might as well call it that.

LOL!

Nice vid Joey! Got a tip.

Don't move 'back to center' until the bike is straight up and down, if you know what I mean. (I fight that at the track).

also, make sure to flash your turn signals before hanging off the bike - to the same side as the hangoff. Helps people following you know which way the road goes. BZ does this and it really helps me know which way the track goes.

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind... I'm doing things one step at a time right now I'm focusing on just being smooth and get my head near the mirrors when hanging off. Next time I hit the "track" I'll pay attention to the moving to the center resistance.

Just to follow up on BZ's tip on "waiting til the bike wants to straighten up" I just went on a little half-day ride and I'm blown away by how much faster I ride now.

Case in point, I get to some tight twisties and I'm among 2 liter bikes, a Ducati 1098 and a Yamaha R1. The road opens up to 3 lanes with 2 going my direction. Out of courtesy (and habit) I hold a lane figuring they're gonna pass me. Well, I almost lost the R1 behind me and the Ducati was behind me most of the time. The Duc only got in front of me because he was dragging his knee (something I'll never do on a public road!). Even then, the duc wasn't never too far away from me, at least 4-5 car lengths away.

And speaking of dragging knee, today is the 1st time I actually touched down, albiet just a little brush with the road, not a full-on road grind. The more I think about it it's all about preserving momentum and by allowing the bike to center when it wants to I'm actually going faster compared to just straightening up the bike and blasting off.

So for the benefit of all, you gotta think of it as listening to your bike, it will straighten up in due time but don't try to fight it; There are some curves that I usually would have already been straightened up but now I never straighten up. The momentum keeps you going faster.

Thanks BZ, if we ever meet I owe you one!

Anytime Joey...actually would love to do a track day with you.

If I can help a rider be better than me (which doesn't take much LOL), then that is a blessing for sure.

If you are relying on the person in front of you to tell you which way the road turns, you're running to fast for your own skill level.

Wanna know which way the road goes? Slow down, and try watching the telephone poles and tree lines.

LOL!

I think you misunderstand what betarace comments are about brother.

I did what he's talking about AT THE RACE TRACK. Not on the street.

He and I are fellow friends and track riders, just an inside joke between us.
