Tires for track-thoughts?
Hey all... I'm doing a track day at Willow on Sept. 5 and I'm looking for opinions on tires. I have a set of brand new Pirelli Diablo street tires in my garage I was going to put on soon, but I'm not sure how they would do on the track... anyone have thoughts on this? My other option is to spend about $200.00 for race take-offs, which is what I'm leaning towards. I did that last track day, then used them for the street and they've been good... lasted a while...
Thoughts please...???

So what did you go with? If I had seen this thread sooner I would have said go ahead and use the Diablo's. They would be more than enough tire to get you through the day.
How did it go? |

if you have the money go with new track tires med, soft compound. I am supposing its a track ride day and not a race..tires are everything but I think those pirellis are good enough for a track day....good luck be safe.....

Yup! Two4One and deepdish have it chicky! Slap the Diablos on, put the pressures at 29/30 psi front and back, in the am BEFORE you are on the track, and let it rip! BZ
