Anatomy of a lowside at Beaverun

I keep forgetting to post the latest videos I have. I was at Beaverun again two weeks ago. Unfortunately I had a lowside on the second day resulting in a trashed SV. I however suffered no damage whatsoever. I was pushing it pretty hard chasing down an R1 that passed (you'll see in the video).

    Couple reasons for the crash:

    1. Rear end came off the ground due to hard braking (witness by a friend following)
    2. Tires MIGHT not have been warm enough
    3. Hit some bumps going into the turn

They all added up to what was a very easy pavement slide. My pants were shredded pretty good but again I came through without a scratch. So now lies the repairs and subsequent costs thereof.

    Gotta' pay to play!

I downloaded the video entitled "crash" and and it seems to be working ok. It didn't want to play the video at first (just sound) so I closed media player and tried again and it works fine.

    Btw I'm glad you're ok.

    Not Firefox friendly......

Looks like some body position could be worked on being less crossed up and getting yourself into position before a turn will help stabilize your bike. It seems that you were pretty close to the edge of the track there too which may have added to the lack of traction. But your body was moving at the same time you flicked the bike to the left also, combined with too hard of braking and edge of the track it would have happen to anyone. Best is to learn from it and dont go down for the same reason twice. Thanks for sharing. It will help us to remember to keep on our toes.

How did that 2 piece suit hold up? Did it stay together?

Saw the video. You were moving pretty fast there. Initiating your turn in under hard braking sunk you there. Looks like the classic traction/no traction low side. Good riding though.

    Glad you are OK Two.

Is your track season done yet? What's next on your agenda?
