A positive Helmet Shop Experience

I've done business with the helmet shop a number of times over the past year or so and have nothing but good things to say about their service and products. Their prices are very good (better than anything I can find locally and usually cheaper than other internet sites) and the items I've ordered (a couple helmets and several accessory type items) have always come right to my door promptly. The owner even called me one time to clarify an order and to let me know he was waiting for a back-ordered item so he could ship my order all together. Even with the delay the entire order arrived at my door within a week (yes, a signature is required, which isn't unreasonable--neighbors come handy in some cases). He is a very cautious person and I can understand why. With his low prices there probably isn't much room for absorbing additional costs caused by window shoppers looking for a free lunch. Buying off the internet is great for just that, "buying."

If you want to go shopping and you're not satisfied with the information found on the web, go to your local retailer and do your touching and feeling there. I think we all need to keep in mind that most vendors are in business to make a fair profit and good customer service doesn't necessarily mean being willing to take a financial beating because a customer wants to get out of a poor decision at the vendor's expense.

I just ordered and received a helmet visor from The Helmet Shop, and as usual, the price was right, the service was good and delivery was made promptly.

Michael...

Shop Ebay... Cheaper by far than the Helmet shop, or Helmet City, or Helmets R Us... and I get my orders in the same timely fashion. They also do not post items that are not in stock. If they do, they post that they are on back order.

I pay about $200 less for an Arai helmet when I shop on Ebay, and it is new and in the box, not a re-pack.

Stan

Its good to hear some positive things about vendors. Usually the only time you hear something is when its all gone wrong. Funny how the little things make such a big difference. Good customer service is just as important if not more important than the lowest price to me anyway.
