You bet! I have never been to a MotoGP race. My buddies and I usually go to Elkhart Lake and Mid-O, so Northwest Indiana will be well represented at the Brickyard!

Excellent! I might get to drone with MD's fifth gen?!

either way, I'll see if I we can all get together for a beer. What's the Indy beer of choice? Stroh's? Schlitz?

Just wondering has anyone been to Moto GP before? If so, what can I expect? Can you get into to the pits to look at the bikes? I have my tickets ordered and I was just wondering what it was going to be like.

I don't even think they will be allowing attendees into the paddock, however, I could be wrong. If I'm not mistaken, Laguna Seca has a special agreement with DORNA that allows people into selected areas of the paddock. I know the paddock is closed when I've attended a few recent races in Europe and Asia. If you are allowed into the paddock, don't expect to see a whole lot and cetainly don't expect to see the machines up close, unless you buy a VIP Village ticket. With the VIP Village ticket you get to go on an escorted stroll down pit lane for half an hour on Saturday and Sunday, don't try to take any pictures  . I think that is the least they could do for the ridiculous prices they charge for those tickets however the "No Pictures" deal is lame. I have purchased these tickets for overseas races before to ensure a comfortable experience when you need a break from 100,000+ screaming MotoGP fans. Main perks are catered food, beer and wine, a pit walk and a nice air conditioned seat with your name on it, you decide if that's worth $750.00 - $900.00 for two days at the track. Not to mention the fact that the bikes are only on track for a short amount of time over the weekend.

I will attend Laguna because it is so close to me, but due to the almost maniacal level of control at MotoGP events, I have chosen to attend WSBK at Miller instead of Indy. WSBK has some serious star power, great racing and a lot more opportunities for up close access to both the riders and the machines. Not only that, it is early in the year so I get my race jones indulged sooner, LOL!

You will need Pit Passes to get into the pits... I went to Laguna Seca and we only had 3 passes for 4 people so 3 would go in, and one would come back out with an extra pass and meet at the other pit entrance.

Oh, and the bikes are LOUD....might want to bring some hearing protection just in case. You will love it!

I would order your pit passes YESTERDAY if you want them!

So the only way to get a pit pass is to pay 750 to 900 dollars? Are there any cheaper options? I would love to have the opportunity to get down in the pits, but I would not want to spend that much.

I don't remember them being near that much at Laguna in '05...my brother's wife bought all the stuff, but it was like $90-100 bucks extra for a pit pass, the only thing is that they have a limited number of them. We got to see a lot of stuff as wel....autographs from Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson, Roger Lee Hayden, Kevin Schwantz, a bunch of others, and I almost got Michael Jordan's autograph as well (Jordan Suzuki Racing). It was worth it at Laguna.

Thats really messed up when you can take a family of four to disneyland for an entire week at the same rate as a 3 day event for one person.

Motegi is a really good GP to go to, as far as a Fan is concerned. there's not much hoopla like Laguna, but for around 380USD I got the VIP Suite (not indoors, but not needed) that included paddock pass, pit walk, pit view (standing on the pits looking down at pit lane during practice/qualifying) for saturday and sunday. I might have to do a story on my adventures in Motegi land. Maybe not, pictures might make some people insanely jealous.....:chairshot: did I mention auto graphs by Nicky Hayden and John Hopkins?

guys i know the prices suck for tickets, believe me im used to going to all the races for free. But this is one race i think I will pay to see. And I know I"m spoiled since I live a mile and a half away from the track. But if some of you guys can make it let me know and Ill make sure its worth your trip. Just be sure to be down here at least a night before the race if you want a hotel/the total experience. I always meet allot of interesting people the night before any of the races. INCLUDING FROM THAT godforesakenshouldabeenabiketrackfromthebeginning F-1 Race.
