I'm new here to the forum and have already found much helpful info.

I just purchased a 84 VF750F Interceptor with 8500 miles on it. It is mostly in stock unmolested condition other than a Kerker exhaust pipe. It is not running but does turn freely. First on the list is to get the carbs rebuilt. I want them 100% right, instead of attempting it myself I was thinking of going with a guy that is on Ebay named Billy that does complete rebuilds (except diaphragms) for about 225.00..I only want to do this once ya know..Does this guy really know his stuff and is the 225 a good price?

I sold a 84 Sabre last year that I put 5K miles on and when younger had a 85 VF700F Interceptor, loved it...

I have done several sets. I do them on the side. Last one was for a guy on this site local to me. If you want drop me a pm and we can discuss, let you know what to look for in a rebuild from anybody.

I'll Vouch for Billy C. Good Guy and stands behind his work.

    $225 is completely reasonable.

"IF" you can find a shop that will do them, they probably won't do them right and still charge you $500.

+1 on that, Billy is a good guy. It seems like there are some folks out there who can help you, which is nice. Personally, I don't repair/rebuild carbs unless they are from my own bike, I hate working on them.

SQUIRRELMAN @ your service!! I could do those carbs....

    Carb service specialist

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With over 30 years experience working on carbs from exotic sportscars, racecars to bikes, and having owned many VFRs ( and lots of other bikes mostly from the 80s and 90s) over the past 24 years, i feel i'm well qualified to offer carb cleaning and rebuild service to members here.

My service includes careful inspection, ultrasonic cleaning of jets, replacement of any parts found unservicable, blow-out with high pressure filtered air, setting float levels, remove mixture screw seals, precision assembly, bench tests to verify operation, and visual synchronization. Jet kits can be installed also.

Much INexperienced carb cleaning needs to be done again....and again because it takes lots of experience to do the job right the first time, every time.

I aim for about 2-3 week turnaround time, and winter is the best season for me.

My plan is to have a fully cleaned and ROAD-TESTED set of '94-'97 carbs available on an exchange basis for immediate shipment. Also '86/'87 700/750

Put them in a box and ship. ( I'm willing to help you over the phone to remove and replace.)

If interested, just PM me here or at my e-mail.

i did my own carbs. 2 turns out on mix screws, set floats and made new float seals from super thin fuel rubber i found at a rubber place.. used a thin copper wire to get butterflies to open the same amount.. bike ran like a champ - prob better with sync but i was super stoked at the results.. might not be such a mission as u think?
