    Hi All

Where are we all located in Europe? I was wondering if there was any merit in trying to arrange a meet-up somewhere?

    Cheers

Hopefully next fall I'll come to Ireland, was supposed to be this year, but timing with work just didn't pan out.

With all these great bikes,we ought to meet up, after all ,we all have a common interest here!
It`s great planning for a trip anyway!

Well, I'll be at the track in Valencia for the WSBK race and track days immediately following from April 03-08, so if anyone wants to head that way, I'll be there!!!

I did a trip last summer down to Nurburgring, and meet a few members of the "other" VFR site, well also some are members of this site.
I had hope to meet many other then but we were only 5, 4 whit bike, and better than non. Saw the Nurburing wsbk race, and 3 of us did ride the old "green hell" monday in full caos...

I have a new (to me) bike now, so a good reason to do a nother lap at "the green hell".

The idea is good, but the place needs to be somewhere so most have a trip they can think of, and better near a track so all can do some laps togheter.
Also a place where there is enough of ok price hotels.
One more time at Nurburgring would be cool for me. But not a must.

OK I'd be interested in a meet. I live in Chatel a ski resort on a mountain pass from France to Switzerland near Lake Geneva. I usually ride back to the UK a couple of times each year and my next trip will see me heading North on 3 August returning to the Alps on the 14th. I won't be rushing - just enjoying the quiet roads.

I normally cross Switzerland to Besancon, then N roads to Rheims and Troyes but could easily go via Basle and onto the Autobahns for meet up/ride somewhere roughly on route to Calais.

In England I'll be joining a few rides in the East Midlands with the Ulysses-UK bikers group and a run round the Lake District before heading home to the Alps. Let me know if anyone is interested in joining and I'll post up details.

Finally if anyone is tempted by a meet in the Alps, then I can offer a great base with some great roads here including the Grand Route Des Alpes and easy access to Switzerland and Northern Italy. I co-own a large chalet (clubchatel.com) and as we are having a fairly quiet summer season I may be able to offer excellent catered accommodation at mates rates for the last week in August.

The last week in August isn't good for me, the first week in Sep would be better, plus there will be other members of VFRD at my house for the Nurburgring WSBK Race as well.

Dang, just bad timing...my wife gets back from her 10 week vacation in the States Aug 25, and it wouldn't be too cool to be apart for that long not seeing her or the kids, and then go on a motorcycle trip, and then one week later have a bunch if guys over for the race...she'd be back in the U.S. if I were to do that to her!!!

Drou, are you going there every 2 months with your VFR !?

Next year, from 13 to 16 May 2010, the french-VFR club will organize a meeting in the middle of France, at La Bourboule (63), in the (sleeping !) vulcanoes region !
Do you want me to book places for some of you ?

    Chris

Depending on costs, I'm definitely interested in this meet.

What accommodation is available? Is it camping or B&B and how much per night?

Its not far from Puy-en-Velay, the Tarn valley and the Millau Bridge, so lots of awesome riding roads to explore. Better still it is the week before the 2010 Ulysses European Rally over in Germany, so it will help give the bike a really good shakedown run before joining the German invasion. (Here in Chatel we have already had our first significant snowfalls so my bike is now parked up til next Spring.)
