I'm getting ready to get some Givi cases for my 5th Gen. If anyone has any photos of the mounting racks, I would like to see them. The info on the Givi website is less than clear & really doesn't provide any insight as to why which part # is required with which part # & so on.

I'd like to see both the Tubular Sidecase Holders & the WingRack.

    Thanks

    OK. here's what I have.

SmugMug Photo Sharing. You look better here.

pretty new stuff. laid the bike down @ low speed & scuffed up the left side case. Cosmetic damage only. these are tough. And big.

For Sale if you want them.

You rock man. Those pics were exactly what I needed/wanted to see.

So the WingRack only attaches to the grab handle mounts?

That brace goes under the tail section?

The rack is further braced side to side by the top rack?

    Does the WingRack come complete?

Does the top portion separate from the bottom?

Or is it a generic rack that you need to buy a specific mounting kit for?

You said "for sale". What's for sale & how much, shipped to 08015?

Okay - now I am choked...I have the Y161, what I need is the N141 - but only the top pieces....what I have is the N151 - wingrack2 to mount two side cases.

Seems Givi doesn't sell just the top pieces - I am going to wind up with an extra N151 Wingrack 2 frame. :(

Here is a pic of my setup (wingrack)

It bolts in the passenger handles holes. You must replace the passerger foot peg bolts with longer ones and the rack will attach to the "extra" threads with a nut.

The rack + 3 hard cases (monokey) costed 2000$ CDN (~1700$ US)

here.... this is a shot of the bottom of the rack. i think this i more clear. see the tabs in the middle? they bolt into the grab handle holes. thats the only point of attachment.
and the two nuts sticking out of the top case carrier / wing rack connection? those loosen to adjust and fit your bike. tighten them up & it is one solid piece.

it is one unit - but it is 3 pieces. each side bolts into the grab handle holes, and the top case carrier connects the two sides for rigidity.

Before I bought this bike I had no interest in the GIVI system. I thought it looked like 2 suitcases & a BBQ. having used it, i still am not fond of the looks....but boy, what a slick system. rigid attachment. cavernous storage. sturdy - really tough. put the case on take it off - strong positive attachement - on in a snap. and i felt no wobble or significant balance issue at all while riding. AND if they bug you when traveling - ride all day with them on & then snap the cases off & take the rack off once you get there - 4 bolts - bigdeal.

the guy who painted the lids Red made his look Waaaaaay better in my mind. that would fix any problems with mine.

I will check shipping - how fast = big share of the cost. U ina hurry?

    Price? dunno.

PM me an offer? I'm trying to cobble together the $$$ to replace my busted gen5

Looks like packing / shipping to NJ will be somewhere around $100 - $150.
Packing / shipping to MSP is a little less, but appearantly distance has less effect than i thought.

If you are interested, lemme know petty soon. Otherwise, i'll post it.

    ride safe......

First off, thanks. The additional pics of the rack upside down were exactly what I needed to see. The info on the Twisted Throttle website is better than what Givi gives on it's own website. This is sad, oh so sad.

I'm working on some things at the moment. I will sleep on it & let you know tomorrow. The only reason I hesitate, is I would like the newer, sleeker looking cases, the ones you can have painted. They are the exactly same thing as the cases you have, just a smoother appearance. The WingRack is exactly what I need.

right. I had some Beemer cases painted for my K12rs. really changed the look, and blended in with the style of the bike. I put city lids on mine as well. reduces the capacity noticably, but it held enuf for me.

I think i will list these. we are leaving town for a few days & I'd just as soon get it out there, rather than have it sit for another week or so.

Good luck on the decision & the buy!

I've read the wingrack is sturdier than the tubular racks but the tubular look less offensive without bags, imo, and I've never had a problem with them. These are the older style but I believe the new style mount similarly. You can mount sidecases or trunk independently or both together.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :)

I just think the wingrack looks more sporty - the plain tube ones look like someone made them in their garage.

Both work and it is great to have the option.
