Is there a way to test a stator with a multi meter? If so how?

each yellow wire should show continuity with others.
yellows should show No continuity to ground

with engine running and stator disconnected from R/R between idle and 7000rpm,output between any 2 wires should be between about 8 to 60 AC volts depending upon rpm

There's the "smell test" too, cuz a burned stator has a distinct, skunky odour.....
