Do any members know anything about the difference between the CDI box(s) for the VF1000R and the VF1000F operating characteristics?

I am asking because I have a VF1000 wiring harness and CDI boxes and a VF1000R engine. If there is just a small difference in performance it will not bother me but I wish I knew more about it.

BTW the ad at the bottom of this page for CHEAP cycle parts.com shows NO listing for 1984,1985,or 1986 VF1000F parts.

The R has a higher redline and a little different ignition curve to match the R's cam timing, etc. Wiring issues aside, you could you either box on either engine. Bear in mind that the F has two boxes and the R just one, but functionally they are the same. They use the same input sensors, etc, etc.

You might lose a tad bit of power going with the F boxes, but I doubt that you could even measure it. I'd say go for it.
