Hey guys, I had a half way decent cover for my bike for about two years and it just recently, finally, tore. I didnt think much of it and did a quick ebay search and got one of the first ones i saw that was supposedly for the vfr...
    Yeah i got burned... lol
It only covers about half the back wheel, and is just a way too tight fit overall.
Also it doesnt do shit for keeping the bike dry.
I would say its the motorcycle-condom equivalent of pulling panty hose over your willie dome... not much protection from the elements...
Kinda pisses you off when you pull the cover off your bike and it is soaking wet underneath. wtf...

    Anyways lets hear it for:

HONDA VFR800 COVERMAX STANDARD MOTORCYCLE COVER:eBay Motors (item 250527788645 end time Nov-15-09 06:13:04 PST)

for making an overall shity motorcycle cover.
So if anyone has any recommendations for a good quality motorcycle cover that wont leave any of the bike exposed, I would really appreciate the input.

I have a Dowco rain cover, and a Nelson-Rigg UV half-cover. I like them both. The UV cover is great for just some sun protection which is easy to bring with you and not too bulky. I used to have another Nelson Rigg rain cover.......but somebody borrowed it...bastages!

hey that is the cover I got from E bay.
paid a whole penny for it and 6 bucks to ship

but my bike is parked under a over hang, so I dont have to worry about it getting wet.
did not look to waterproof when i got it.

What size half-cover did you get? Has yours seen rain, and if so did it keep the seat dry or dry-ish? Thanks!

Nelson Rigg 2000 half cover. Mine has survived 4 years of the New Mexico sun at altitude. Highly recommended.

I am on my second Dow-Co cover, it is a top of the line piece and has the protective stuff on the bottom to protect the cover from the hot exhaust, it also has a nice felt portion for your windscreen. I wore one oot and sent it back and recieved a new one, original one lasted a 1.5 of south FL climate when I used to use it regularly. Best bet is to park in a garage or shaded area...

I just picked up the UV2000 half in Medium for my Gen 3. The length and width is spot on. The stock mirrors are exactly the correct width for the front so it stays taught, but doesn't stretch or move your mirrors. The height isn't quite what I was hoping for but I'm going to keep it anyway. It covers the tail just fine (I have fender eliminator, it's wrapped around the license plate). But on the front it only covers the headlight, it doesn't stretch enough to cover the molded turn signals. Sorry the picture sucks, but the bike is tight in the corner of the garage.

Mine's a MEDIUM and it does cover the front turn signals. I had to make some paracord extensions for the elastic that is supposed to go on the pegs. It is nice and taut and rolls up into a ral small package-easily fit in a small day pack.

I have the Dowco and it's worked just fine to keep the seat dry during downpours. Packs down really small, used only occasionally. Underside is coated to repel water.

I always thought Nelson Rigg made sub-par rain suits, dont know aboot their bike covers, can't match Dow-Co though. Maybe he is a sales man for the company. :potstir: :flip: in south FL, if you use the cover every day for the year, it wont last more than 15 months period, they do stand by their warranty. Nuff-Sed...Cheers

I am a fan of the cheap, Walmart Motorcycle covers. They have a couple brands they sell online, but the one you can find in the store sells for about $20. It will only last about two years and maybe less in daily, hard sun. However, the cover comes with a 2 year warranty and you can replace if it dies in less than two years. Just hold on to your receipt. Even if it lasts only two years, it still beats the pants off a $60 - $100 cover that will only last 3 or 4 and doesn't really offer much better protection.

I use a size large Dowco cover, which fits the motorcycle well. With saddlebags, though, extra large will probably provide the right coverage.
