OK, I pulled the forks off my '96 yesterday, de-capped, removed the springs, poured out the old juice, pumped repeatedly then left them hanging inverted over the drip pan overnight.

Today given the stated capacity of 412ml per leg I add 400 to each planning to measure level then add incrementally until happy with the reading on my dipstick.
Pumped the sliders and damper rods repeatedly to after the pour and let all settle for awhile.

With forks fully compressed per instructions the level is way above the 177mm mark ???? :mmph:

:twitch: Duh, what's up with that... What am I missing here?

Hmm? not sure here as I don't have a measuring device in front of me, but how does 412 ml compare to 412 oz. ? calls for 412oz in my book and I have never had a problem in so I've never had to measure it. FWIW I also flushed mine out with kerosene, like you, I then let it drip dry over night. Just to bad Honda didn't see it necessary to add a drain ala CBR600 forks

You have to use a Massachusetts measuring cup not one of those Rhode Island ones.. :)

Seriously -I would drain the forks and try again...

If you put 412 oz in one you'll have a problem... just try it!

    (412 oz = 3.22 gallons)

You'll never get all of the old oil out(without a tear down). Just get the level right and dont worry about it.
