hi guys, i am new to the forum and new to my VFR. I love it!!! i have just got new cans on which look and sound great and my next step is to make the rear look sportier. i have tried looking for a tail tidy for 2007 VFR but cannot seem to find any??

Has anyone managed to find something that looks good. I have seen the DIY donket tail removal and re-shape stock option but not an option for me. I am useless at anything DIY.

i am in the UK, so if any of you Viffer lovers here have managed to replace the awful looking tail, please help, guide me to where i can buy one.

    thanks

    Aakash
P.S. sorry if this is in the wrong forum - still trying to work the VFRWorld website out

    i guess so -

the VFR has a really long tail on which the license plates sits. in fact if seen from the rear, it looks like the "tail" is half way down the rear wheel... very ugly looking.

in the uk we call it tail tidy, but i have heard the same referred to as fender eliminator...

    any suggestions?

Hello! i also have a very very very cheap option which i used. I completely removed the fender, and mounted the plate on the plastic way up under the seat. (there is no light, which technically is illegal in my state, but hey i was saving money for beer!)

    check mine out

That's what's great about the CompWerkes kit, it retains the stock plate light and is legal in most areas. :thumb:

with the angle of the plate the tail light give off enough light to illuminate it

I'm with Surfer on this one. Competitionwerkes looks clean and the light stays. I installed mine in 20 minutes, and you'll just have to take my word on this, I am the worlds worst wrencher. I can't prove this, but I believe the CW fender eliminator will drop 42lbs off of the back of the bike.

There is actually a support piece that you can use from the stock tail section that will allow you to mount the plate. Once you take the stock fender off it is the metal bracket that mounts to the underside of the tail. I'll try and get pictures of mine and post it up.

thank you everybody for your suggestions

    hi everybody,

thanks for all of your suggestions and tips.

i will check out the CW website and see - follow some of the links all of you have provided.

i definitely need to keep either the original light on or at least have some sort of light - the UK authorities are dead serious about that kind of stuff....

will write more after my return from the nurburgring - hopefully with some cool pictures and videos of the track

I just posted a thread in mechanics garage wondering what solution there is to fill the voids left once the passenger "grab handles" have been removed. Looking at your pictures of the license plate bracket it looks like you've done this?

Curious for those with the fender eliminators on the 6th gens. Do you ride in the rain and if so, how much af the rooster tail hits your back?

I ride year round with no rooster tail of water hitting me. I can't say the same for the person behind me though... They shouldn't be tail gating anyway!

The only issue is that the bike does get a little dirty in the rain without the fender.
