    hey all,

i have some classified ads for VFR parts on vfrworld and i have to say that it's been a great service.

however, lately i've been receiving suspicious emails from people inquiring about parts. here is the latest one:

    <hello,

how are you doing over there..my name is bruce disney i came across your item in the ads and am highly interested in purchasing it so before i proceed i will like to ask some few question regarding it ok?

1.how long have you own it

2.have you own it from new?

    3.how many previous owner

4.what sort of condition it is?

    5.do i need to repair?

6.how much is the final asking price for it?

7.do you accept certified cashier cheque as a mode of payment?if yes kindly get back to me with the name and address you want the payment to mail out to.

note.i dont want you to worry about the shipping cause i have a private shipping company that is working for me and will come for the pick up at your own location at your own convenient time.>

has anyone else been receiving dubious emails such as this? the email addresses of the senders of these suspicious emails have been:

    brucedisney yahoo.com

    and also

    silverwaretrucks gmail.com

well, i hope that this helps people avoid having their time wasted.

if these are really legitimate offers...then mea culpa.

that sounds a bit fishy. we do what we can, but it's hard to keep out spammers/scammers when an actual person (not a bot) logs in and types things... buyer/seller beware! A good way to check someone on here is by looking at their posts, their join date, etc. I personally wouldn't deal with someone brand new on here just because they are an unknown to me and I have no way to know until I get burned.

ok folks...it IS a scammer. guy just wrote to me AGAIN, apologizing for "the long muteness in our communication. I lost my son, and definitely my mind. I'm yet to recover from this though..."

then he goes and talks about how he's going to send the payment for the "helmet."

    helmet???!!

i'm not even selling a helmet.

guy can't even keep his BS straight.

sellers beware: silverwaretrucks "AT" gmail.com Jackson Brunnett

When I was selling my Arctic cat snowmobile they did this all the time.Even a guy claiming he was from Africa wanted to but it lol.I wrote back a funny letter how I needed to soak it in salt water for a week and add sand to the cylinders before I could ship it. He wrote back and said it was fine and wanted my banking account to transfer the money.Eh no!
