I guess it's getting on 27 years since I was a sophomore in high school when the Miniceptor hit the streets and I always had a hankering to ride/own one. They just looked awesome in it's day and damn it if it didn't have six speeds! While looking for parts for a custom cruiser build I'm working on I stumbled upon a 1984 Interceptor 500 in such pristine condition I couldn't quite pass it up. The previous owners, just two, had taken phenomenal care of this bike and here it stands all these years later looking like a first year bike. It's got 30k miles and has very few blemishes. Looking forward to miles of fun on this thing and just wanted to introduce myself as I'm sure there are plenty here with advice and knowledge that will help down the road.

    Cheers,

    Ken

    Welcome aboard Ken. :welcome:

Congrats on scoring that Minicepter. She's purdy. Got any more pics of it?

It would be a damn shame not to show off a little beauty like that just a bit more.

Welcome aboard Ken. That is a great find. I rode an '86 model 500 for about ten years, and loved every mile of it.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I took it out today as we got a nice spell of weather out here. It's remarkable how smooth these V4's are, reminds me of my brother's Magna 750 while idling in 1st gear. Neat bike for sure and surprisingly not as small as one might think a 500 would be. I heard one guy call it the grand-pappy of all sport bikes. Here are a few more photos I took today.

Holy crap that bike looks new. You should take lots of pics from all angles and close up for all the people wanting to restore one. It'd be hard to find a better example than yours.

That's good thinkin' there Reg. ^^^^^

Maybe prop the tank up and take some detailed pics of the vacuum hose routing, carb connections, fuel hose routing/connections and so forth.

I've noticed that for some reason those things always seem to be the major points of interest to the guys and gals who are working on/restoring these bikes.
