I have a 97 VFR, and was wondering which inverts people are using for the mod?

I need to reseal the ones that are on it now.
One has dribbled fluid onto the pads, and I have another project bike that needs a complete front-end.
So, instead of spending $$$$ on parts for the project, I'd like to upgrade the Viffer.

Found a good deal on a 07 CBR600 donor, just not sure if it'll jive.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Yes, it can be done easily.

Someone over at VFRD has several front ends ready for swapping, including a complete 929/954 with triples, which should make it simpler. RC51 SP1 forks are one of the favorites, but I personally used 2000 R1 forks, nice, shiny gold and very close to the same length as 3rd/4th gen VFR's.

Go over there and research "frankenviffers".

    Good luck.

There are many different configurations that you can do for this easy mod. A lot of it will come down to how much money and time do you want to spend. I have done the mod to my VFR, and used CBR 954 forks. Yes, they are a little shorter than the RC-51 forks, but the decreased length also helps turn-in. I have had my VFR up to 165 mph (indicated, and on a race track) and didn't notice any lack of stability at high speeds. You can see pics of my VFR in my gallery. I'll try to answer any questions that you have, and as Safetypro10 has mentioned, a search of "frankenviffer" over at VFRD will give numerous results.

Thanks for all the cool info.
I'm in no rush, and have a couple of front-ends located................ found a clean RC51 in my searching.

    I appreciate the help.
    I'll post up what happens.

    Thanks again,
    Gene.

Scored a set of 929 forks shortly after the last post.
As usual, my plans change.................. Decided to keep the stock forks on the VFR and just reseal what's leaking.

Plan to use the USDs on another RG project, and also been busy finishing up a prior invert swap.
The 750 is mothballed for now, and should be resurrected in a few months.

    Thanks for asking Doug.
