I'll bring this thread back to the top. I just got a VFR and will be looking to do some riding around Nashville. I am in Franklin. I will have to check out the meetup site as well.

    Welcome Hozzie,
I know a few riders here in Franklin. One owns a 1998 VFR. We ride all around here. Sometimes we make a long day of it. It's usually short notice when we do decide to get out. Are you new to Franklin/Middle TN? New to motorcycles?

I'm in East Nashville with a 1998. Also just started working at the Cycle Gear in Madison, so if you need any gear or tires, come see me :)

Not new to Franklin nor really new to Motorcycles, but it has been about 7 years since I last rode. I just bought a very low mileage 2008 and am looking forward to getting back on a bike. I will just want to do some easy riding for a while to knock the cobwebs off, but I will certainly be up for some rides. I am usually pretty flexible on schedule so last minute isn't really an issue for me. It just depends if I already have something planned for that time.

Motographer, I may be up to see you. I want to get a few things. I want to get a new helmet, specifically a Shoei Neotec, so if you have some good prices, let me know.

I'll have to check if we have any Neotecs in stock, I know we have the GT-Air, RF-1200, and a couple of RF-1100s left on closeout. If we don't have exactly what you're looking for, we can always special order it. I'll be working Saturday and Sunday afternoons :) Our GM also has a 2004 and one of our sales guys has a torn up 1991. We should get a local VFR World meet together, I had no idea there were so many others in the area!

I drove by that store several days ago. I too need to check it out. Maybe I can this Saturday but it would be late in the afternoon before I could.....weather forecast for Saturday is mid 60's, cloudy with a 20% chance of rain but that could easily change by Saturday.

Surely you don't mean to imply that our weather is anything other than perfectly normal?

...I say after a 40-degree swing in high temperatures from yesterday to today.

Pigeon Forge is a long way from Franklin/Nashville, about 4 hours.

Yes it is at least a 4 hour drive from Franklin/Nashville....but you'll be in an area that is motorcycle riding heaven in (North Carolina mostly). There is the "Tail of the Dragon" (U.S. 129) if you have never been there. (Best to hit that Monday-Thursday much less traffic) but if you want to see all the hub bub go on a Saturday or Sunday. There is the Cherohala Skyway (highway 165 east out of Tellico Plains, TN.) There is highway 28 in N.C. U.S. 129 in north Georgia is good too. There are fun roads in nearly every direction. ASK THE LOCALS RIDERS!! They'll be glad to tell you. Don't forget the Blue Ridge Parkway.

It's fine. People move into an area and we get new members. Welcome to the forums!

Also check on VFRD, there's some Nashvillians there too.

I'm giving serious consideration to moving to the Franklin area.

Jeff,I've ridden around Franklin and even tried to do Natchez Trace but got rained out,we saw a ton of deer up there so a bit nervous about that.I usually take off and ride the Bell Buckle/Beechgrove/Normandy area
