Thought someone might help. I am looking at screens for my '98. I don't mind the stock screen but would like a tinted one. The best I have seen is the Zero Gravity SR (stock replacement) which is available in light or dark smoke tint. I am not sure about double bubble or not. My other concern is hearing so many stories of them not lining up properly. Any comments appreciated. Thanks.

I have a Zero Gravity ST and love it. The double bubble seems to be a popular one here too. I almost went that way but wanted a little taller screen to go with the HeliBars. Had no problems with fit at all.

Don't get a cheap screen. If it fits it probably won't last. I bought a $30 screen off of eBay for my 954 and it cracked within a month. The top edge of the screen was very rough as well.

I currently have a Zero Gravity Double Bubble and I like it. I am about 5' 8" and I have the stock bars on my bike.

I want a tinted double bubble, but I think they stopped making them for the 5th gen. I can't find any in stock.

I bought a 30 dollar hong kong tinted double bubble from ebay seller "gobid". The fit is pretty good, not perfect, bit of a gap on one side. And the edge finish is acceptable to me (doesn't have a lip).

I've had stock, ZG DB, and Givi ST. The stock is best fit, thicker. The DB fits okay, but is thinner so there was a small gap. The Givi fits really well and is thick like the stock one but it is kinda ugly.

I have a tinted Targa and it is great in combination with my bar risers. Previous owner tried a double bubble and had buffetting issues. If you intend to use risers, I say go with the Targa.

    Part. Nos.

    Hiya,

I'm still battling with my Spanish honda dealer who keeps wanting to charge me for the tinted windscreen they shipped alleging that there's only one reference for it and THAT IS IT...

It's shameful, I had to call a US dealer myself and ask about a part number.

    Part No. USA 64201-MBG-650 (Clear)
Part No. EUR 64201-MBG-000 (tinted dark grey, apparently)

Maybe some connaisseur could shed some light wether OEM windshields for our babies come in both options: Tinted and/or Clear, and WHERE in the world this happens, geographically speaking??? :)

Or is it just the fact that by law, US motorcycle HAVE to have clear windshields (part no. 650), whereas european models could benefit from legally tinted ones (part no. 000)?

I would not be surprised at all if it is a federalization issue. We don't get a lot of euro parts such as flush mount signal lights.

August 27, 2015, Call to dealership for availability:

"It is not available. Last price was $320.00"

Okay, so my online surfing shows that European suppliers have it at €210, plus I think VAT, but including shipping.

I just made a boneheaded move but I could not stop myself: I ordered the European screen. Ugh it is about $230. The supplier, motorcyclespareparts.eu also had decals for the 50th anniversary. I ordered the "50th" emblem as well for my media (aka sticker) collection. Do you know that they want about $50 for the 50th tank wings decal? I wanted it but I had to stop this madness right there.

I will keep you updated but it may be a while for delivery.
