I had stuck rings on piston 3 in my '85 vf700f so now looking to replace everything. After looking all over the net I have come to the conclusion that a set for a single piston is ~$30. I cringe at throwing $120 on new rings but if it has to be done it has to be done...

My question is, does anyone know where I can get a set of rings for less than $30? I saw a complete set for $60 on ebay but the listing had already ended...

    Thanks.

$30.00 is too much??? I spent $185.00/set, for each piston on my '95 Ducati 900SS. $30.00 for rings is a give-away price. Remember, new parts are not prorated based on what you paid for the bike...

    $30/per piston is pretty good.

Plus gasket set and many hours

It's not as simple as just replacing the rings.

For best results the cylinders should be honed properly whenever replacing rings, and many precise micrometer actions are needed to determine that cylinders and pistons don't have excessive wear and haven't gone all pear-shaped like.

Naaa just dingle ball it and throw the old rings back in. Oh yea, buy lots of oil too!

$30 bucks a set is not bad, especially for the age of the bike.
