    Hello,

I've just started a long overdue project of swapping out the forks, rear shock and wheels on my '87 VFR700F2. I've read a lot about basic fitment, but very little concerning spring rate and oil weight in the forks. I got two sets of forks, a set of early F2 and mid 90s F3 forks, which I'll combine to give me the better adjustability of the F3 forks, but the speedo drive of the F2. Have any of you had this sort of swap long enough to get a feel for what's worked best?

Thank you in advance for your advice and comments.

    Rick

No experience with it but I would fathom a 10W fork oil would be a good place to start. Your weight, weight of bike and baggage and riding style will dictate the spring rate you will want. Sonic springs has an online calculator to help you out.
