There is Emigration Canyon to Morgan for a garlic burger at Kelly's in Stodder, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Big Cottonwood Canyon, ya can take this canyon to Park City or Midway, Trappers Loop. There are endless rides. Where do you live & how long have you been in the SLC area? Are you on Facebook? There are websites that inform riders of events or just locals going out for a joy ride. The wife and I ride with friends almost every weekend you're welcome to come along or we can meet up and I'll go ride with ya

    Hi,
    Thank you for the reply.
I live in Taylorsville and I moved to Salt Lake about 10 years ago.
I have no Facebook (maybe the only person in the world) lol

Let me know if you are willing and have time to show me some rides around here.

I just removed my ecu and will be without my bike for about 2 days.
After that I'm good to go.

Just got back from a ride to Yellowstone yesterday, spent one night in Ogden on the way back. Some pretty scenery in Utah but that state has the weirdest liquor laws:drink: I was jonesing for a good IPA!

Glad you enjoyed the views of Utah.
Yes, Utah does have some weird liquor law quirks here. Besides putting the bike away for 3 to 4 months during the winter it sure is an awesome state to ride in. Coming down from Yellowstone is beautiful. Hope you took State Route 89 or 189 through Wyoming into Utah. Much better route then Idaho. Met 5 people from New York the other week that flew out to Salt Lake City. They rented 4 Harley's and were just starting a trip to Yellowstone, Sturgis, Black Hill's, then South to Colorado back to Salt Lake. I need to get some friends togeather and make a trip like you and them.

Ya weird you go to Costco and no liquor. ...state liquor stores and there closed on Sunday. In a bar no more then one drink at a time...like a shot and a beer...

Hey daplatten, not sure what the actual route numbers are that we rode, my friend Jim planned this trip and chose the roads based on twisties and had the whole trip mapped into his gps, I happily followed:smile-new:. We did go through part of Idaho, we spent a night in Jacksonhole and when departed in the morning we went a bit west before heading into Utah. Probably the best riding and most spectacular scenery was in Colorado, but every state we traveled through offered a lot of diversity. For example, I had no idea that Arizona had so much forest! Pretty cool. Speaking of Arizona, on the way up we found ourselves in Chinley (Indian Reservation) at the end of the day so checked into a motel for the evening..........dry! Damn it! I really enjoy a good beer at the end of the day. In the future, we will plan around dry county's or reservations!
Sorry for the side step hijack.
    John
