As a Crossrunner owner and ex VFR1200DCT owner I looked at the new Crosstour with great interest as it had the sort of style & riding position I really like on the CR combined with the great motor from the VFR. To be this seemed to be a recipe for what could be my perfect bike.
I went along to my local dealer to take out the demo. However I came away a confirmed CR owner.
The reason I didn't buy the Crosstour was that I couldn't get on the thing without a stepladder. I'm sure that this will cost Honda sales and that they really missed a trick by not offering an adjustable seat or even a lower seat option and/or loering kit as BMW do for the GS1200.
If anyone here has tried the Crosstour I would be interested to hear their comments

I agree. I don't understand why the US model selection is seriously lacking compared to the rest of the world.

I also own a Honda NC700X as my commuter bike and I understand that now it has finally arrived in the US unlike Europe it only comes in one colour. I would have thought that considering the size of the US market the range of bikes would be at least equal to that of Europe.
I believe that it is not only Honda that are guilty of not bringing the full range to the US

l had a look at the crosstour and your right about the seat height it is high, but l think lowering the suspension wouldn't pose much of a problem...just a bit of added expense

For people with vertical chalenge, Custome suspension is the way to go. If there is a will there is a way :)
I would get one in a heart beat if they are available in the US of A

I've finally come to the realization that no stock bike will have the suspension on it I want. Anyone who wants the most out of whatever bike they buy will realize that motorcycles are not spandex and they don't fit everyone without some custom tailoring. Even if your leg swings over the seat, chances are you would have been unhappy with the springs or the valve stacks anyway.

Best to budget extra money for suspension work in any motorcycle purchase.
