2002 vfr.....what do you guys thinK???? Critical Review, help!!!------ pics added

going to look tomorrow and possibly pulling the trigger. Would like some encouragement or some "tell me to not do it"

2002 HONDA VFR800 INTERCEPTOR - Excellent condition, super low mileage (only 2,250 miles), Great upgrades - Corbin Seat, Tank Protector/Bra, Two Bros Exhaust, PC3 Power Commander, handlebar anti-vibration weights, new battery. Stock seat and exhaust included, upgrades installed.

    $4200 Firm.

i can't seem to get the pics of the bike to load but we sorta know what it looks like, if the bike pics are super important i'll figure it out but they are nice. In the mean time see below...

is the mileage an issue...bike sat for a year or two, more or less, not even main't rides. but was tuned up recently, new battery and all is ship shape.

For comparison, last year I paid $3300 for a 2002 with 12k on it that had some road rash on one side and no accessories.

The price seems decent to me assuming fresh tires and fluids. If the tires are more than 6 or so years old, you'll need to replace them and that would be a few hundred dollars. Coolant, brake fluid, clutch fluid might need to be changed as well. What did the "tune-up" include?

I'm a little conflicted here. My first, and actually my final thought is that it's a premium price for a bike that is still almost brand new. Though you flip the coin and it's an 11 year old motorcycle! The add ons that it has are great and add value. I would still want to put Heli bars and heated grips on, and it's to bad the factory hard bags aren't included. I don't know, if it's pristine.........tough call. Have you been searching a long time? Ever owned one or ridden one?

owned couple 4th gens, skipped 5th but 4 - 5, all good. loved them, they were all stock. the going rate seems to be about 4k here in az and that's on junk that has zero bells and no whistles and 30k on the clock etc. if it has less than that they tend to be more expensive and 05 or up. All things considered i think this is pretty legit and it does have several bells.

i'm assuming the pc3 rids the bike of the twitchy throttle. does the idea of it potentially sitting stagnant for a while cause concern?

Sellers usually emphasize the fact that their bike has never been wrecked unless the bike has been in some types of incident in the past. That doesn't necessarily mean that this bike isn't in great shape but make sure to inspect it very carefully. Price is good considering the low mileage and extras.

not in ca but i really appreciate the offer to come with. if the recall has NOT been completed, what's that run and is it a deal breaker? Bike has never been down and has been garaged entire time.

4k is a good number, and what i'm aiming to work with, give or take. i rarely see any vintage, that is in good shape with respectable miles below 3500, maybe 3k at the lowest and it'd be a 4th gen or something with 15k, for example.

$4200 seems reasonable to me. Even though its "firm", can't hurt to try a little less.

As mentioned, recall is free. Don't let that deter you if you like it.

Nice extras. And its been tuned for the PC3 and exhaust. Bonus.

Confirm no damage or ever crashed.

Its your cash. If you like it, go for it. I would.

    Agree 4200 seems fair.
I wouldn't worry about it sitting a few years. That happens to lots of bikes.

for 2250 miles this thing would have had to have sit for an excessively extended period of time. I'm probably going to pass. Plus after all my research i'm thinking i'll be sticking with the whine of the 5 gen.
