Getting started on the exhaust system. Took off the stock headers and now it's time to order some SS mandral bent tubing. This is the set of headers I made for my Maverick I'm hopping that VFR will be easier. I plan to follow the 2 brothers/stock design I also want to make it a high exit but retain the rear pegs.

He's actually ordering stock pieces of mandrel bent tubing and cutting and welding them together, and they do look fantastic!! Good job sir, can't wait to see the exhaust candy you're building next!

That exhaust is a little big. I have the dimensions for the 5/6th gen two brothers full system.
You should be able to get away with the primaries and secondaries, but your collector size should be 2 inches.
2.25 is way big. I can email you the spread sheet that I made if you like.

I think I looked at your data from VFRD, unfortunately the Yosh muffler I got for the stock system has a 2.25" inlet. I plan to stick to most of your information. Last weekend I went on a ride with the Pro-form owner and bumped this idea with him. He didn't see any issues with my plan. I also ask about tapered tubes and he mentioned that it makes a big difference on twins but not that much on 4 cylinder bikes. Of course when your racing everything counts.

My main goal is to make something lighter, better looking and extra power as a by product of the other two.

maybe you could start the collector at 2 inches and then slowly taper out to the 2.25 inch muffler. that would probably work out.

The Micron low mount slip on for the 5G flared out to 2.25" or 2.5", had the best seat of the pants grunt of any pipe I had on mine.

Tubes showed up yesterday, looks as if I won't be able to use the stock flanges unless I grind out some to get it to fit over the 1.5". Can't wait to get started!!!

I got the first tube tacked together last night. I was able to use the OEM flange by flaring the tube to 1.5". I also sanded the flange weld for better flow since it's on the inside. Still haven't decided what tubes to connect together. It's looking like the rear two and front two right now.

Well I ran it a little problem yesterday. I measured the tube lengths and they're longer than I was shooting for, 36". And one was 34", oh well looks like I will add 2" to the short one. Then connect one front with one back, then I notice what the cylinder numbers are. So now I'm going to adjust the rear tubes to get them the same length and connect together. I reall want 1-3 and 2-4 connected together first. The adjusted length should be around 32", better but not the 28-29 I was shooting for.

I got the pipes adjusted and the first collector made, I should be able to tack up the mid pipe tonight. Then it will be on to making the front pipes.
