I am changing spark plugs and noticed the hose pictured below. Not sure if I knocked it lose or if it was like this before. The other end routes down and out the bottom of the lower cowl.

Anyone have a clue to what it is?

That's the fuel overflow hose. It connects to the larger of the two steel tubes on the under side of the gas tank.

Open your gas cap and take a look to the left of the filler hole Hamiltonfighter, that's the fuel overflow port. If you should happen to overfill your gas tank while filling up your bike the fuel will drain down that port and into the fuel overflow hose.
The fuel is then deposited harmlessly down onto the ground beneath your bike and not on top of your hot engine because raw fuel and a hot ignition source makes things go boom in a hurry.

I was thinking that's what it might be. Haven't got a chance to look yet.

    Thanks.

The hose ended up not connecting to the gas tank. Seems to be some kind of breather for the engine?

Just to clarify,we're talking about the hose marked with the Red arrow in the pic below right?

You're saying that the other end of this hose attaches directly to your engine, can you get me a good clear pic of exactly where it attaches Hamiltonfighter.

Now I'm intrigued to find out what's going on here. :spy:

I think Stosh nailed with the first response.
I think the hose is go down by the oil pan and point to the gound.
I am interstet to see where it goes :pop2:

Likely a drain from the airbox (oil blow-by or rain water) to ground next to sidestand.

    Yeah me too Scuba.

It's definitely not an engine breather hose because that's the hose that runs from the top of the rear valve cover to the back of the airbox.

Okay well mine is Purple and everybody else's will be Black but you know what I mean.

Hamiltonfighter stated in his first post that the hose in question routs down toward the bottom of the bike and out the lower fairing panel.

As far as I know there are only three hoses that rout down to the clip on the oil pan and extend out beneath the lower fairing panel.

The EVAP canister drain hose (left),the fuel overflow hose (middle),and the coolant overflow hose (right).

I'm on my tablet so highlighting the pic is hard forme right now.

In the second pic, there is a bolt right in the center. Above the bolt you can see at least half of a white circle. The hose fit so I figure that's were it goes.

This is on the driver's side of the bike.
