:eagerness: hello all, finally got around to changing the oil and filter and coolant on the bike, previous owner said oil was only done but i doubt that-- i had a new genuine filter which i had for the deauville and lucky its the same part! anyway after getting through the fairing minefield(ill need to replace fixings in future) it all went fairly well, ill need to replace oil bolt next time as i overtightened it trying to open it initially ......... anyway my question is in the pics, what is the green thing attached to frame and what is the unconnected electric connection!?

The Green thing is an ignition coil, not sure what the wire connector plug is for Mark.

If you can get a good pic of the wire colors in that connector plug I can identify it.

Hope your didn't strip the thread on the plug. Cause it will be the threads on your pan than is more likely to strip than the plug itself. I did the same thing. If you did, there are fixes for that. I think it is something called a heli thread or something like that. I just replaced my pan...the expensive route.

don't forget to take your carbon canister off and put in closet to save 3 pounds :gun3:and pollute air and easy to change the filter next time to a extra large purculator oil filter-plug one hose going to gas tank-guess which one? Randy how could you be dumb enough to strip your oil pan bolt? Ok, I see, I can fix things better than 99% of you guys even save my plastic with my foot-we all can't be superman

Wasn't hard at all really. I can show you how if you want to learn. That was a truly blond moment for sure. Seems I have those quite frequently.

I think, if my memory serves me, some times it does, sometimes a little less so. I misread my torque wrench settings. I was trying to do this right by reading the book. SHould have read the scale on the wrench more closely.

First off Randy is a Scotch man as opposed to a Scottsman. Some Canadians do not drink stout or eat oatmeal twice a day even though it makes anyone strong. Some Canadians drink oatmeal stout all day.

Old movies are great and Nelson Eddy was a great singer but all those dudes looked like they were more like the Village People than sailors. It looks to me like the wardrobe department saved those costumes reusing them in harleydood biker flix.

You must have went the wrong way-your suppose to set your socket wrench up to go the right way before you use it. This has nothing to do with being strong-its 20pounds-one more than my car. You put blue loc on so it doesn't come loose

Doesn't look like it was answered. That open electrical connector goes to the PAIR valve to open/close it. Your previous owner probably did the PAIR delete.

True. More accurately a Scotch snob.
Less true. Lots of that blood in my lines
The Irish are more known for their stout, but I do like my oatmeal

no thats on right side, I didnt have time to trace it to anything, just curioius when I find another unconnected block, figured it might because of PAIR or alarm system mods?

Okay so the round hole in the top of air box is basically covered by the foam under the tank, but in front of that there is a cut out, just a square open space, but there is already an air inlet on the right side..... is that normal?

    IMG_20140516_163033.jpg IMG_20140516_163033.jpg better pic
