So why do I see so much discussions about mods and repairs but almost nothing on planned rides or how a ride went and where you rode ?

Only if you are going there to purchase ingredients for jo-jos or a new flat screen to watch Oprah reruns.

Why are you posting this question instead of writing a ride report?
Kidding. I guess most of us are busy working, with family, kids or many more reasons why there are many questions and no rides. On the other hand, I think there are plenty of ride reports on the right sub forum.

Sometimes getting rides together is like herding cats, too many scheduling issues between meeting time and ride date. Basically now it's texting or PM'ing riders I've ridden with and getting a small group together and hitting the roads. Not that I don't like meeting new members, kind of what this forum is about really but after several ride calls with limited responses, I know the guys who really want to ride and/or won't flake out. They know who they are!

So to appease the video gods, here's a ride I took with a couple of VFRW members. It's not JDog quality but decent I think.

Well I went for a two hour ride last night from Moncton to Cape Enrage and back. It started at 71 deg and dropped to 51 by the time I reached the coast. The wind also picked up to the point that it became a handful trying top avoid the potholes and keep her on the road at a decent clip. I even did a few kms of dirt road that I didn't expect but that is what happens when you free ride on roads you have never seen before. I took advantage of it to practice my drifting technique. My lovely white wheels are now quite disgusting but what the hell, it was fun.

When I returned to Moncton I found that the evening crew of V-Twin lovers had decended on the local outdoor cafes and the main street was lined with them as their buddies rode up and down breaking the noise bylaws which seems to go unnoticed by the local constabulary.

To answer the original question: Fan forums are resource sites, not saloons.

I try to post ride reports for most of the trips I take but so many jaunts are limited to an afternoon, out on the bike, that are memorable only for what they mean to me. It's hard to put into words an afternoon, riding the familiar local back roads. It's easy to document a longer trip but longer trips require more resources and therefor are fewer in number. Needless to say I enjoy the short rides as much as the longer epic adventures I just don't write them up.

@Jim: Yup. Agree. I enjoy short rides just as much as the epic. Try to ride daily, which usually happens since I live in S. Florida. Long or short, two-wheel trips are better than cars.

I can't seriously imagine you searched this forum before you posed that question. Click the forums button and look around. there are literally hundreds of ride reports, thousands of pictures. there are even probably over 100 videos embedded in various reports.
