Looks like OCLandspeeder and I will be taking a ride called the "Fast 400". Here are the current details:

What Is It: Someone coined it "the Fast 400" because it's nearly 400+ miles of great roads in and around LA & Ventura County. It begins at ACH before turning West on Angeles Forest Hwy. It hits Little Tujunga, Sand & Bouquet Canyon, Spunky Canyon, Pine Canyon to Frazier Park. From there it goes up Frazier Mtn. road to Mil Portrero/Cerro Norriestre Road, then Hwy 33 to Ojai. (From the OC area it's close to, if not over 400 miles.)

    When: Saturday, June 7th.

Skill Level: Intermediate and higher. Due to the duration of the ride, and the type of roads, we rate this for intermediate and advanced riders. The roads are a mix of Ortega Hwy-like high speed turns, to tighter-than-Palomar decreasing radius with elevation changes, to wide open test-your-top-speed kinds of roads. Not that this is recommended of course! ;)

Meeting Locations (Currently): This will depend on who, if any, attend the ride.

Location #1: 7:15 AM KSU - Unocal 76 station, corner of Oso Parkway and I-5 in Mission Viejo.

Location #2: 8:00 AM KSU - Unocal 76 station, corner of Westminster Blvd and Willow Lane (Westminster exit off I-405).

Location #3: 9:00 AM KSU - Shell station, Hwy 2/Angeles Crest Hwy and 210 freeway in La Canada.

Why: Because we can and we can do without those "WHY?????" post! (http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/45536-Why?p=442522#post442522) The Fast 400 blends all the types of roads we enjoy as motorcyclists into one ride. The routes also avoid most of the heavily CHP-patrolled roads in the area. With the exception of ACH of course!

Misc FYI: You're on your own for breakfast. We suggest you eat something before starting. Lunch will be at a roadside café on Hwy 33, which is a long ways out from ACH. Bring stuff that you would normally bring as if you're going for a long hike in the middle of nowhere (water, sunblock, snacks). Most of these roads will not have many places to stop and pick up supplies and such. Flat tire repair kits is a wise investment.

Finally, the riding style is 'The Pace'. But we're not shy about passing slow vehicles when it's safe. We don't do knee dragging or stunting. We don't run from cops. We cruise the freeways with "the flow+". We've had our fill with getting "performance awards". Hope some of you can join us.

NOTE: Having done this ride a couple of times, all I can say is, be prepared for a LONG day and make sure you're up for it!

Hmm, no other takers? Nepix has to work, so it looks like it's OCLandspeeder, me and maybe one local non VFR rider. OK then we'll just post our report and hope you enjoy the ride through our "eyes".

Could be a couple of reasons or more.

    400miles
The slower guys may not want to be as fast as the guys that think they are fast.
The fast guys are faster than the slower guys who think they are fast.
The fast guys and the intermediate guys and the slow guys don need no steenking rules.
    Who is "we" ?

Snapping fingers and magic is a little more like Wizard of Oz than Star Trek. Star Trek was science based, where you tap your chest and ask Spock or Scotty to do the work.

Nice seeing you again Darryl and nice to meet you Jordan (OClandspeeder) and your buddy Doug from OCmoto. I just got back home around 6:45. Did around 500 miles today, and my :ass: feels like helga just got done working it in. :xxx:

Stopped by the Rockstore but no Jay Leno. :pout: I did partake in the local "choke N' puke" and manage to hold down an omlette... :puke:

Is it even a fair competition? Viffer for the win!

Whaaaaat? I have one for each VFR, no more no less, however there is another member here who has 3 of them! Oh, and hate the game not the player. (For the record it's OOTV now)

Yeah, almost forgot, thanks for gracing us with your presence for the short time frame! Although we could have used those dive bombing skills later during the ride up on the mountain, some "real" selfish people were hogging up the road for a bit. No worries though, OCLandspeeder took care of them real quick!

Oh man! What a rush! I have to say, this route is where you can REALLY blow the cobwebs out of your VFR's. Not just for short bursts but for miles and miles without too much worry about the presence of the Fuzz.

It was a pleasure to meet you Derstuka. Glad you stayed ticket-free. Us too because we definitely deserved it today. :smiley_simmons:

Did anyone notice that not only did that 850 Commando have a shift lever on the wrong side, the brake lever was on the wrong side too.
