I had a 2005 SRT4 looks like a neon Stock ran 13.20s in the 1/4 mile . I had in in the 12.80s . 2.4L turbo 300hp+

I did a little tuning today on the neon, put in a new coil-they get very hot and seem to wear real fast. I use to run some race gas in it 110 and 115 shell, I have it tuned on 91,93 and 96 gas with the DSP-it also has a custom exhaust 3 inch and a hand made custom intercooler, light weight racing wheels and good year 186mph+ tires, SS brake lines, extreme duty rotors in front, street racing carbo tech brake pads, custom hand made suspension, no back seat removed, street racing clutch-hurst shifter-mobil 1 0-40 in tranny. The gas station burned down so all I can get right now is 91 which isn't enough.

 

Please Lord have mercy on our poor souls...not another one

Neons chit themselves all over, its funny how few you see anymore. Add a turbo to your blender its more worth while imho, because when the little missus makes her smoothies in the morning, its gona sound t Su-weeet.

Forgive me for editing as its off my demonic lap-top, I am getting the "new computer' symphony and I don't wana cave in. CHeers.

SRT4's can be giant killers when properly set-up. Keyword is properly

+1 for that race.

 

I don't have a giant. Its just a V6.

Currently in the shop - brakes being upgraded. (I can't crawl around in my garage upside down - due to medical reasons - replacing lines). A few other goodies getting replaced, too.

A caught the attention of some kid with a Mustang Shelby down the street a few weeks ago. Left him a nice 50' patch of rubber in front of his house just to get his attention. I'm sure he'll be looking for me soon.

 

I always figured SOW for a Yugo dude. They were half fast.

Make sure to put a camera on the Neon, that way we can watch that old sleeper lay down a smokescreen and pull away lol. In all seriousness though, that might not be a half-bad race.

 

It probably would be a good race. I'm getting the car to the point where the power is there and its tuned nicely, but the current suspension/tire set-up is proving to be a little inadequate. But I don't think those will be addressed until the winter. One step at a time on these 27 year old cars...
