I love my rear Ohlins, besides precise remote adjustability and found its advantages as a subtle ride over ripply road surfaces, could feel the difference immediately through my heel on the SSSA and the big one for me was Zero fade after hard riding for more than 3 1/2 hours through Alpine Twisties on a very hot day like the OEM rear Shock would to.

I love my Ohlins too. The difference was so noticeable that Peggy even commented on it after one ride after I installed it.

I've been using http://www.maxtonsuspension.co.uk/ for about 20 years on various bikes.
Their fork re-work and shock made a considerable mess of my foot pegs & exhaust heat shields.
I now have a new Maxton shock which will shortly go on the rear.

More adjustability than an Ohlins shock and it's made specifically for the bike, rider's weight, riding style, road surfaces, etc.
Good to get the front re-worked at the same time. They make suspension for race-winning bikes at the T/T, NW200 and other racing in the UK, so they know a thing or two about making bikes handle well.
Nothing wrong with Ohlins, but I still choose Maxton for all my bikes.

Go on a diet. Lose a few pounds & suspension performance will magically improve.

Engine performance will miraculously improve as well.

I don't need suspension upgrades or modifications, I only weight 135 lbs.

Your lucky. Stock VFR suspension wasn't made for us heavier folks.

carbon canister 2pds, stock exhaust replaced with 2 bos carbon 19.5 pounds-that's over 20 pounds right there. I guess a reworked shock would work good enough for me.

Maybe you should become a better rider?

barring that, the blackbird shock, or the F4i shock with a new spring works well.

Daugherty can hook you up with either. or you can take the info you get from the site, and attempt it yourself through ebay and some mechanical skill.
