Since she is already apart getting my silver body pieces painted black I decided to do a couple other things.

Pair mod was 1st, then the evap system. After that I decided to insulate the bottom of the airbox to help keep intake temps down a hair. I then removed this white plastic bottles in the airbox. After about an hour of trying to figure out what they are for I deemed them useless.

put on my triboseat cover, layed out some clear bra for fitting, and ordered some decals. the triboseat cover took some adjusting to get to fit without wringles and such. it was cheap at $25 so if it doesnt work well i wont be too butt hurt about it. Will let you all know how well it works this weekend at deals gap with the wife.

Two white bottles on the ironing board were in airbox? Not connected? Only thing I can think of is that they resonance filters to tune out an annoying sound at a particular frequency (RPM). Ancient Greeks used to tune their amphitheaters with urns filled partly with stones.

All I did was move her backwards to get to a box, then move her back.

    Stormy here in Tucson today.

I got on mine, fired it up and rode it to Walmart.

If some of that duct tape was saved, that might be good keeping your SO from falling off the ass end of your bike. This could be called ultimate re-cycling.

Nothing at all today, I rode yesterday went for a swim then it started to rain, so I went under a tree waiting for it to go then I dried out on the way back. It was the first time I hit real rain in a while, my back hurts so I didn't ride today just feed the cats a bit of swordfish.:sleeping::sleeping::rain::rain::spy::bored::bored::bored:

Big game fishermen in The Indian Ocean use cats as bait when fishing for swordfish.

I did the coolant flush & change as instructed:
    http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/23276-Coolant-Replacement-5th-Gen?highlight=5th+Generation+Coolant+Flush
Flushed the system twice with dist. H2O & refilled with silicate-free pre-mixed, safe for aluminium engine coolant (blue colored). The old coolant was fluo-green in color but doesn't look old. Don't really know as I didn't do a taste test :D
I also change the crush washer just to be safe. I think all the air pockets are filled with new coolant: ran engine & blipped throttle a few many times...
Hopefully she'll take longer to get to the fan-on point. Will do a quick ride later to confirm. Now, I have to go & take care of a broken nail when removing those plastic clips. BTW, I left the center part of the fairing on the bike. I just removed the sides: easier & less PITA!

Cleaned and washed the bugs off both my 2000 VFR and the wife's 96 VFR, changed out the coolant on the 96, waxed up both bikes. Also fixed a dent in the top of the tank on my wife's bike caused by dropping a rake on the bike while moving stuff around in the garage. Oooooops, shhhhhhhh, we won't mention that I did that. LOL. You know what the wife would say, "Well if you had moved the bike first, then..............." Actually I don't think she would say anything other than, "Soooo, I see a dent in the tank of my bike. You're gonna do something about that I hope, RIGHT??"

    Tomorrow, THE RIDING BEGINS............

Well just did a 20-30 min. city ride with light to moderate traffic & red lights stops. The VFR runs as hot as she normally does. I don't notice if she runs cooler or not. Maybe because new coolant transfer heat from the engine to the coolant better so no change in temp readings...But that's another thread...
And Mr. Z, since both VFRs are clean, maybe you should spray on some PAM to keep the bugs from sticking on tomorrow's ride...Just a thought :)

Hmmmmmmmm................ Nah, tomorrow, once I get the 5th gen all covered in grasshoppers, maybe I'll employ a bit of child labor and get the kids to wash the bike. They love playin with the hose and having water fights. That'll give them some purpose to go out and have fun.

I bought a tire today. I took the wheel off and took it to my dealership. (I get a discount) They mounted and balanced it for me. Bliss! I am ready to ride. The shop group ride is tomorrow morning. It was postponed from last Sunday to this Sunday due to rain. Tomorrow is supposed to be dry and stinking hot.

Did the 1st oil change & adjusted chain slack. The oil change was no big deal, only the lower left cover needs to be removed. However, to get the oil filter out and the new one installed you need to move the lower radiator mounting strut out of the way (remove the 10MM bolts at each end of the strut). The plastics were easier than the CBR.
