Right i will admit it to being a t..t here. Just taken out my front wheel on my 2001 VFR 800 to get a new tyre put on. After bringing it back from the tyre fitter i lost the collars!! Found the wider one in the back of the car but not the smaller one. There is a small one already sticking out of the oil seal. Is this the other one?Left the wheel at the fitters and am wondering is the wheel "handed". ie has he put it on the right way See photos of wheel at present to get an idea as both sides are different in that the hub protrudes further one side than the other.
I know i should have checked when i took it out, just rushing as i was late for work. Serves me right!! Left side of bike..JPG Right side of bike..JPG

Got that cheers. Turns out the fitter has put the tyre on backwards! There are arrows on the rim showing direction of travel.

I would certainly raise an eyebrow at your tyre mounter. Appears he works on lauries more than bikes. Ya. The collars are two different sizes. If you want a couple pages from the service manual I can send you that. The whole manual is far to large a file.
