    Hello my VFR friends,

Does anyone own or has any experience with the bikes above/below?

I was thinking about adding another one hopefully by selling and downgrading on my car :) some of you will understand that lol

Currently I have a VFR 1200 2010 and VTX 1800 a cruiser bike and my choices are down to the above two.

I guess I'm looking for a bike that "scares me" If that makes sense?!

    Possible choices were:

    Yamaha FZ 09 (2015 Version)
    Monster 1200
    Kawasaki ZX6R
    BMW 1000R
    Triumph Street Triple
    Triumph Speed Triple
    Triumph Daytona
    GSXR 750

I mainly ride on a twisty and canyon roads and in town etc... not much freeway or very long distances.

    Thank you

My next bike will be either a Street Triple 675 R or a BMW S1000R.

The Triumph motor is in the sweet spot of power delivery where it makes power in all the right places to go fast. The naked BMW is just a sexy bike.

    Lol,
A few people I know complain about too much technology on that bike and frequent shop visits.

If I were in the market with those same choices, I would get the Daytona. It's cooler looking, more unique, more exclusive, loved by everyone I know that has one, and wins most middle-weight shootouts in the magazines. The gixxer may be a bit cheaper to buy and own in the long run, but don't we own VFRs because we want to be special and not just another tool on an R1/R6, ZX6/ZX10, CBR, GSXR, etc.?

So, with all that, I say get the Daytona 675R and don't look back!

That would be the 3rd bike in just a few months, wouldn't it? ;) DriverDave makes a really good & accurate point IMO. That being said....Have you done any track days? Would you consider a track bike? You don't need a modern (expensive) sport bike to paint stains in your underwear.

The D675 is an excellent bike and if you can swing it, the 675 R gets you all kinds of upgrades, well worth the extra in price. It is an Exact-O knife of a bike, very precise. It's supposed to be fairly comfortable as far these bikes go. The Gixxer 750 may be more comfortable, you really should try them both. The Speed and Street are both great bikes as well, but not as exact in their approach. I will tell you this, when I worked at Simi Valley Cycles in sales, the Streets would sell pretty rapidly. We almost never got the Speeds, Streets and 675 in trade. They pretty much only came in if they were upgrading to the R version. The Gixxers we saw more often.

    Ha ha ha...
I have the bike fever right now and I'm willing to downgrade on my car to get another one if possible.
    What's wrong with me? lol

Some track time in another country before.
No track time where I'm at now. It's really hard to get on the track where I live.

I've owned the first year 675 - grey 07. one of the best bikes I've ever owned. Was sad when I had to sell it for economic reasons. super light, torque was unbelievable. and would put it pretty close behind my 04 CBR1000 interms of get up and go but obviously not equal. Cornering stability was up there with my ZX7R, which I consider to be one of the more stable and forgivivg bikes I've owned. The triple also sounds pretty sweet revving up to redline. Mine had a bad rectifier... go figure.

I have zero experience with the newer gen gsxr so can't directly comepare the two but my bet is you won't be too unhappy with either.

For the type of riding you do, I'd go with one of the nakeds.

Yea, they have them at Miller Motorsports it just hard to get it... they have like track days 2-3 times per year. And they prefer that people use their bikes which are over 90% all R1.

Nothing wrong with you. I'm always looking for the next bike or another bike. Currently want a ZRX1200 or a Griso. The BMW R 9 T looks cool too. Just heard Kawasaki has a 300 HP bike. Rumor has a track only model with a street model coming soon. That'll keep underwear makers working OT! ;)

My primary bike is a 2010 CBR600R ABS. Same ABS as on the VFR12. Build qulity is typical Honda. I looked at evey supersort before I bought. For my money it's the most livable SS for street riding. The reach to the bars is shorter and more comfortable than any other SS I looked at. The suspension bits are top notch. The handling is stellar. It has a few less peak HP than some others, which I find irrelevant for street duty.

The only mods are Helibars and a Ventura Rack. I regularly ride it 500 miles in a day in plenty of comfort.

    Oh I see.
I will check out the 2010 CBR600R. How is the torque comparing to your VFR 12?

After owning more than a few bikes I think deep down in my heart I really like Super sports :)

My friend has 2004 ZRX1200 and it's really fast.
He beats me off the line every time on my VFR 1200. I guess the chain makes that much of a difference :) Or maybe it's me lol

About half the torque. 2007-current models are nearly identical. It's a bulletproof design. You need to keep the RPMs up, but that's the fun part. It actually turns easier with the motor spinning at high RPMs. It's the best handling bike I've ever owned (I've had about 25 bikes over the years).

We are talking about a 600RR correct?
    What do you weigh?
I'm 200 lbs maybe little too much for the bike. I'd like something fast off the line....even faster than my VFR 1200.

I may go out and test ride one...
