Fun as Fuck. Except for some guy that stuffed his bike under the guardrail. He was okay but his bike was killed.

Well I'll be damned. Glad Long walked away from that one.

When you think about it, it probably happens all the time.

Good that you got a day minus the squirrels and touristas who are paying more attention to the sound than anything else. Grear ride.. For the dudes that have not done this one, IMO, it's more of a scenic than a blast through some twisties.

I agree, beautiful views of the San Juan Islands and quite a few turnouts on the West side for photo ops.

Depending on where you consider to be the start and end, the ride itself is only about 15 miles.

There wasn't much traffic mid week so we could slow down to open up space between the cars in front without worrying about pissing off people behind us.

One of the interesting features of Chuckanut are the jagged rock faces right next to the East side lane. Going “up” Chuckanut, they look like they almost jut into the lane. It makes you want to duck your head on some of the right handers.

Since it’s so short you can make it a destination ride. The are good pubs and restaurants at the North end in Fairhaven, or you could go North to Fairhaven, turn around and head back south to “The Oyster Bar on Chuckanut Drive” White table cloths and a little spendy but the food is worth it. On a sunny day get a window seat overlooking the ravine and admire glint coming from your glass of Redhook.

Lastly, Hwy 11 leading to the twisties has a 5 mile straightaway, of which over a mile is bordered either side by fluffy dirt fields and no trees, fences or crossroads (Well, I don’t remember seeing any anyways) It’s a perfect place to see how fast your bike goes. Not that I’d ever do that…
