I like to think that the reflective tape helps make us more conspicuous, but the number of distractions to drivers these days I don't think it does as much as I hope. Still, I use the reflective tape on my helmet and wheels too, just in case it's enough to catch the eye of someone just attentive enough! I got my tape from http://reflectivelyyours.com. They also have stuff that you can sew onto clothing and even reflective cord for strapping stuff down. Cool stuff. £10 helmet huh? Well as long as the helmet is certified, nothing wrong with that! Funny though, we have a saying here in the states, "If you have a $10 head? Then buy a $10 helmet". It was actually an advertisement line that Bell helmets used quite a few years ago and riders kind held onto it. Well since the £ is actually more than the dollar, I think it's OK  It definitely is conspicuous. Ride safe and ATGATT! Cheers
I figured as much, I was just my attempt at humor. Although when you read it out of context, it does look like you only paid £10 for stickers and helmet! English is such a confusing language!
I was driving home last night and a person was jogging along the roadside. He had reflective bits all over, and was impossible not to see. I was careful not to hit him but sadly he had a dog on a long leash. OK I didn't hit the dog either but the critter was invisible till he turned to look at me, AND he was in the road. I ALMOST stopped and suggested he get reflective tape for his dogs ass. But I didn't. That said I just received some black reflective stick on sheet from 3M. It lights up pretty nice and looks satin black during daytime. I will cut some shapes out for my black paniers and black helmet.
My bike and my gears all Black, I think I need to get some of this tape. This remind me of Tron
If you use the black tape that reflects white, it's "stealthy" until light hits it... Similarly, on the helmet, it just looks like black stripes Until the light hits it
Reflective shit.....pfffft! Would kinda like to see what my bike looks like driving down the road at night. Never seen that.
Stealth tape lit up. Not artfull but it sure does light up. Been meaning to do this ever since I got rear ended stopped at a light at night. Knocked right on my ass. Dunno but maybe it would have helped a little. Maybe.
If most of you dudes would just do a little more reading and homework here, you would know that Randy already glows in the dark.
