Looks like I found the bike for me, will need to trailer it home.

Anyone know the bar width so I can pick up some a canyon dancer setup? They have multiple sizes... original up to 32" bars, end to end.

I usually just use straps that wrap around the grip and pull down that way for track day transport on my other bike, but want to be careful with this one.

    Thanks!

Hi Dan - welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:.

When you get a chance swing by the Introductions section to say Hi to the rest of the folks. We don't bite but will be keen to see some pictures of your VFR once you pick it up otherwise you may get folks raggin on you. Its easy to add pictures - just click on the insert image icon and follow the prompts to select and upload one or more images from your computer.

You may want to update your forum profile (Forum Actions/Edit Profile) to include the specs of your bike and an approximate location city/state is fine - that way the information will appear automatically with all your posts and if you need help you may find someone nearby willing to swing by and assist - especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge :drink:.

    :focus:

The official dimensions for the 8th gen models show the bike is around 29.5 inches across the bar ends - so slightly wider than the 6th gen models. Hope that helps.

Good luck with the new bike and take care!

Thanks for the warm welcome and info! I'm told I can get to the lower triple tree to strap it down in front, but who knows. Looking at the bike to confirm it is as nice as in the pics tomorrow, and hopefully picking it up Saturday afternoon! Will be on here looking for help/advice in setting the bike up for me. THinking Z-Bomb, SW-Motech top case rack (I have a big Givi I use for commuting) and some OEM luggage. Eventually, exhaust, maybe Power Commander (although I have never used one on any of my bikes over the years)...

Will update profile and add pics once the bike is mine!

In the future I'd like to recommend the Cycle Cynch II. All regular strap and canyon dancer users will appreciate the difference. I used to be a canyon dancer user until I found the Cycle Cynch II. Doesn't pull on the grips. Pulls straight down to the tie down point. Easy to use, with very little tension on the suspension. I only use this setup without any rear straps. (When used in my truck. Not a trailer)
